The Department of Health and Human Services' Division of Operations is looking for an IT Business Systems Analyst to perform business process analysis and design support for the N-FOCUS system team. Examples of Work
What you will do on a day to day basis as an IT Business Systems Analyst, under general supervision:

  • Function as a liaison between technical developers and DHHS administration, policy teams and end users to find application solutions to business needs.

  • Document work flows demonstrating current and proposed business process.

  • Gather business requirements from program administration, policy teams and end users.

  • Document requirements and design.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for technical developers to answer or follow-up on workflow and design related questions and issues.

  • Investigate reported system malfunctions and documents findings.

  • Develop system test plans, create test cases, and execute test plans. Assist with preparation of help text and release notes.
Qualifications / Requirements

REQUIREMENTS: Post high school coursework, training, or experience in the analysis of business processes and system requirements, and the creation of business process applications.

PREFERRED: Associates degree or higher in Business, Human Services or Computer Science. Two years' experience working in health and human services delivery or system development or support. Experience working with the N-FOCUS. Previous experience working in Medicaid, Economic Assistance, Developmental Disabilities or Protection and Safety/Child Welfare.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to: Communicate information to others with strong verbal and written communication skills; utilize computer applications; systematically analyze data or information; think logically; recognize and identify problems and their sources, apply general rules to specific problems to come up with logical answers; document/record information; organize, plan and prioritize multiple assignments; be able to work well in a collaborative team environment and have exceptional collaborative skills; be a self-starter and self-motivated. Knowledge of: Principles and processes involved in business and organization planning, coordination and execution; computers; specification development and writing. A working knowledge of the following tools: Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office Word, Microsoft Office Excel, Microsoft Office Visio and SharePoint. Skill in: Explanatory writing; facilitating meetings; information gathering; reading comprehension; active listening, conducting research and self-study.
