The IT Advisor is positioned to engage with our customers, connecting with the key decision maker for long-term technology planning. Successful service, productive solutions, reliable experience, and confidence in technology investment require long-term planning that the IT Advisor builds with that decision maker. Meeting with their customers on an annual basis or other cadence set by VC3, the IT Advisor brings forward findings, issues, and opportunities to discuss and identify where technology can solve business problems or be leveraged to improve business outcomes. Pairing that content with an ongoing understanding of the customer’s business reality, goals, and concerns, they produce an ongoing roadmap of outcome-driven technology investments for the customer. Our consultative approach is key in keeping VC3 as a market leader in managed I.T. services. In addition to external responsibilities, it is critical that the IT Advisor identify opportunities for VC3 to improve upon existing services or add new high value services. The IT Advisor combines this analysis with a basic business understanding to progressively improve alignment of our offerings with the customer’s needs. Key Responsibilities Client Relationship Responsibility
  • The ITA (IT Advisor) is responsible for maintaining a relationship with the decision-making contact at each client assigned to them.
  • The ITA is responsible for responding to client communications within the ITA’s scope, or to connect the customer with a more appropriate resource for those needs in a timely manner or advising a customer of an expected timeline or future conversation where they will address the customer’s need.
  • The ITA assumes the day-to-day responsibilities of a Customer Relationship Manager on an operational or reactive basis. Client Road mapping/Budgeting Responsibility
  • The ITA is responsible for scheduling or touching base with each of their customers quarterly. In the quarters they are not conducting a Strategy Meeting, they have a call with every client assigned to them.
  • The ITA is responsible for identifying areas where new technology solutions are needed by clients, or capture where other internal teams identify that need. Skills, Knowledge & Expertise Minimum 5+ years of solid business experience. Technical Account Management experience preferred. Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred but more importantly equivalent real-world experience. Exceptional communication skills, relationship building, customer service, prioritization, and time management skills a must. Strong technical aptitude and the ability to grasp technical concepts. Strong commitment to creating success for our client’s, co-workers and self.
  • The ITA is responsible for leading the contract renewal process for each client assigned to them and looking for opportunities to grow our service scope with those customers.
  • The ITA is responsible for conducting these meetings with the customer. Expectation is that these meetings drive alignment to our standards, report on roadmap and progress, outline next steps and get customer approval on them.
  • The ITA is responsible for scheduling and preparing the customer facing meetings with each client assigned to them annually or based on a cadence set by VC3.
  • The ITA is responsible for clearly explaining risks and liabilities to clients about their technology state and decisions, and if appropriate document the client’s decisions to manage VC3 risk and liability.
  • The ITA is responsible for helping the customer understand where further alignment to our solutions improves their business outcomes. Client Quarterly Call Responsibility
  • The ITA is responsible for reviewing the roadmap with the client, developing, or recommending the I.T. budget, and guiding solutions selection that improves alignment with VC3 preferred solutions.
  • The ITA is responsible for understanding VC3 technology solutions and standards, the customer’s adherence or needs relating to those standards, and using the appropriate internal platforms to drive that ongoing alignment.
  • The ITA is responsible for developing an understanding of each client’s business goals, needs, challenges and interests. Additionally, any compliance or regulatory requirements related to technology use. The ITA may need to act as the client advocate internally within VC3 based on that understanding, so we are prioritizing and acting in a way that benefits the client.
  • The ITA is responsible for acting as the trusted advisor and consultant to the client regarding adopting our technology solutions that align with their business, and to support technology investment which advances the needs of both VC3 and the client.
  • Each client assigned to the ITA should have a technology roadmap and I.T. budget – the ITA is responsible for being the lead on the development and progress of those items.
  • The ITA is responsible for understanding and providing the business need and business outcome aspects required for the internal process to scope, estimate, and then present solutions for the customer.
  • These calls should drive alignment to our standards, report on roadmap and progress, outline next steps and get customer approval on outstanding items. Technology Awareness Responsibility
  • The ITA supports the onboarding of new clients, assisting in expectation setting and relationship building with the key decision makers involved. Client Meeting Responsibility
  • The ITA supports prioritization, management, forecasting, renewal, and delivery of VC3 solutions to their assigned clients, as well as education of clients on those solutions.
  • The ITA is responsible for gathering or reviewing feedback, audit outcomes, evaluations, alignment with standards and best practices, and other relevant data associated with the client to understand their current state.
Excellent attention to detail, organization, follow through, good judgment, technical common sense, and solid problem-solving skills. Solid problem- solving skills and an aptitude for finding creative alternative solutions. Strong work ethic with a desire to learn, grow and develop new skills. Must have valid Driver’s License as traveling to and from clients is required.
