Investment Operations Analyst Jobs

The Investment Operations Analyst is responsible for Treasury and Cash Management functions at the SBA. These include analyzing the daily account activity for each of the assigned SBA accounts and independently forecasting the daily cash requirements for investment. Analyst decisions on cash investment figures have a monetary impact upon the Board. The Investment Operations Analyst is also key in the daily settlement of all internal trading activity for the SBA. The Investment Operations Analyst is responsible for ensuring timely settlement for trades in assigned accounts and for resolving exceptions. This position is responsible for the processes to ensure all trades are properly confirmed, transmitted to the custodial bank, and posted to the internal portfolio system. Further, this position monitors trade settlement each afternoon and is responsible for resolving any failing settlements coordinating with the custodial banks, brokers, counterparties, and internal trading staff.

The Investment Operations Analyst is an authorized signatory with all custodial and commercial banks and is responsible for validating and processing all cash movements for the assigned accounts including movements for Legal dealings and regulatory requirements. The Investment Operations Analyst is also responsible for authorizing and directing any trade changes or any changes to the book of record.

This position is responsible for independently identifying and coordinating resolution of reconciliation discrepancies through communication with Fund Managers, Traders, Accountants and Custodian Banks. The Investment Operations Analyst must ensure data integrity in multiple systems. This position requires a thorough knowledge of various security types and markets the SBA invests including the trading life cycle, derivatives, and security regulations.

25% - Analyze daily account activity for assigned accounts and independently forecast daily cash requirements

• Process cash sweep figures for assigned accounts in all internal systems
• Reconciles daily activity in internal portfolio system to custodial system
• Review and resolve current day security and cash discrepancies with custodial bank, asset class personnel and external managers
• Independently assess daily cash figures for assigned accounts

20% - Administers trading activity and facilitates timely trade settlement for managed accounts

• Monitors trading system to verify all trades properly flow to the custodian, the internal portfolio system and the trade matching platform
• Reconciles and ensures proper confirmation of trading activity in the trade matching platform
• Works with internal asset class, traders and the custodian to resolve trade discrepancies and ensure timely settlement of trades

15% - Research and resolve reconciling items to ensure data integrity between multiple systems

• Independently investigate outages on the daily accounting cash and inventory reconciliations
• Work with SBA and bank personnel for timely resolution of discrepancies
• Facilitate corrections to the appropriate systems

15% - Analyzes Corporate Action activity for internally managed accounts

• Verifies rates, eligibility and allocations for corporate actions, dividends and interest payments
• Researches and resolves Corporate Action Issues
• Authorizes and releases corporate action elections in custodian system for internally managed accounts
• Records corporate action elections into the internal portfolio system

10% -Validate and process all cash wires and transfers in custodian wire system for assigned accounts

• Arranges for all new wire templates to be created in the custodial bank's wire system
• Authorizes instructions to custodian for any issues requiring manual intervention including cash or trade adjustments
• Ensure proper approval is documented for all transactions
• Directs all cash movements in the custodial bank's wire system

10% - Analyzes and processes daily futures activity

• Updates internal portfolio system to reflect derivative activity
• Initiates cash transfers and deposits in custodian bank's wire system for all cash movements
• Performs daily reconciliations between broker, investment managers, and the internal portfolio system

05% - Assist in the day-to-day operations of Investment Operations

• Complete special projects supporting the maintenance and ongoing development of Financial Operations and overall SBA missio
• Organize and prepare documentation of all manually entered transactions for filing
• Provide support and acts as backup to other group functions as needed
• Execute regularly scheduled testing of Disasterr Recovery plans
• Other duties as assigned

Hiring Range: $61,100 - $76,400
