Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Investment Analyst with a strong focus on market research in the AI industry to join our dynamic team at Decent Capital. As an Investment Analyst, you will play a key role in conducting comprehensive market research, analyzing trends, and evaluating investment opportunities. Your ability to gather actionable market intelligence and identify promising AI startups will contribute to our investment decision-making process. The ideal candidate has a solid background in engineering, a passion for the AI industry, and a keen eye for identifying promising investment opportunities.

Responsibilities:

Market research and technical assessment

• Conduct in-depth research and analysis of the AI industry, including emerging trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscapes.
• Assess the quality of AI algorithms, data models, computational infrastructure, and technical architectures.
• Conduct thorough technical assessments within the AI sector, leveraging your engineering expertise and understanding of AI technologies.
• Collaborate with technical experts to evaluate the intellectual property, technology differentiation, and competitive advantages of potential investments.

Investment evaluation and Industry Intelligence:

• Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to gather market intelligence and build relationships within the AI community
• Prepare regular market research reports, identifying emerging trends, potential investment opportunities, and risks in the AI industry.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in AI technologies, research publications, and industry news to maintain a deep understanding of the AI ecosystem.
• Present investment cases to the investment committee, effectively communicating market insights, investment thesis, and key metrics.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Well-organized, detail-oriented, ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
• The candidate should take own initiative and be self-driven with positive attitude & integrity
• Experience or knowledge of technical assessment methodologies, algorithms, and computational infrastructure.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field (advanced degree preferred).
• Solid understanding of AI technologies, including machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and related fields.
• Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and investment analysis.
