JobSummary: The Inventory Operations Specialist is responsible for the liquidation of obsolete and surplus inventory within our Distribution Centers. Inventory will exit in an efficient, timely and accurate manner to support shipments to third-party and ecommerce customers. This is accomplished by curating a list of items, merchandising selected items across various platforms, overseeing the sales transactions, as well as the packing and shipping of these orders. The Inventory Operations Specialist partners to proactively identify, create and implement processes, procedures, and tools that maximize sales and reduce DC capacity constraints, while producing margin positive results. Their tasks and responsibilities contribute to the overall DC cycle time goals, increasing speed to market and supporting a dependable and reliable distribution process by directly working and observing our warehouse operation.

- Curates list of items to be sold, with merchant approval, and determines the appropriate exit strategy for the selected inventory; bulk/individual sale, donation, used book annex, etc.
- Creates an obsolescence sales forecast and communicates weekly actuals by channel.
- Creates the various accounts/listings needed to promote and merchandise obsolete/surplus inventory.
- Identifies opportunities, makes recommendations, and collaborates effectively to create or modify the necessary tools needed to ensure a seamless flow of goods through our DCs.
- Applies creative solutions to land margin positive results.
- Provides customer support to ensure greatest fulfillment and highest customer satisfaction.
- Summarizes progress made clearing aging prime and bulk locations.
- Oversees returned closing store merchandise.
- Manages various bulk vendor relationships and third-party accounts.
- Dependable, receives and executes tasks to completion.
- Knowledge of retail supply chain, warehouse operations, or merchandising is a plus.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Working knowledge of retail store operations.
- Work on the warehouse floor which includes regular lifting, bending, reaching, pulling and pushing of 10 -35 lbs. with an occasional 50 lbs., and ability to stand for extended periods of time as needed.
- Works collaboratively with others to meet the needs of the organization.
- Follows up to ensure all work requirements are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or 3-5 years of working experience in retail sales operations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Access).
- Adapts well to changing situations, prioritizing and multi-tasking.
- Must be team-oriented and customer-focused.
- Familiarity with social media and third-party sales outlets.
