Job Description

SUMMARY: The Inventory Control Specialist assists the supply chain department under the direction of the Purchasing Manager to manage other duties related to facilities supply and organization functions. This role primarily participates in inventory control, warehouse organization, and production kitting support.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Inventory Control Specialist:


  • Complete all administrative task related to properly receiving materials to ensure suppliers are paid on time including but not limited to scanning, filings and archiving packing slips, invoicing and documenting credit purchases.
  • Operate lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas in preparation for receiving.
  • Unpacks, examines, and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Participate in daily inventory control management practices within the warehouse.
  • Optimize warehouse storage locations.
  • Support cGMP within warehouse to maintain certification status.
  • Maintain 5S within the warehouse for cleanliness and organization.
  • Dispose of obsolete inventory in accordance with safety data sheets.
  • Support kitting activities when required.
  • Participate in month “Field Days” for warehouse optimization activities.
  • Communicate improvement ideas for better storage and material flow.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Responsible for helping others and providing on-the-job training or guidance.


Education and Experience:

1-3 years of experience of experience in warehouse and inventory control practices.


Other Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in warehouse storage and inventory management for a manufacturing company.
  • Solid warehouse operations background.
  • Experience in forklift and pallet jack equipment.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with warehouse management systems and knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Strong communications skills, self-motivated, self-starter and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiar with and experienced in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Power Point).
