Job Description

We are searching for an Inventory Control Manager to join our growing operations at our Reserve, LA location. The Inventory Control Manager will be responsible for the management of the Inventory Control team and functions to ensure the correct balance of customer service and inventory investment. Functions include supervision of stock ordering, inventory health, backorders, supplier management, system integration & performance, continuous improvement of existing tools & processes strategic inventory control input, review of key performance indicators, and communication with leadership.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION

  • Conduct analysis to determine cause for emergency purchases and identify corrective actions to reduce controllable backorders
  • Provide assistance with ledger reconciliations between CODA and DBS
  • Monitor KPI reports for accuracy. Report to management on status of KPI performance against targets and suggest corrective actions if needed
  • Educate and assist parts personnel on proper inventory procedures
  • Provide responsive support to Parts Operations to serve customers. Maintain open communications.
  • Analyze parts usage and trends to optimize inventory health and minimize backorders
  • Create a yearly plan of objectives & goals for the department as well as other business plans
  • Supervision of required inventory control systems
  • Evaluate purchasing trends and make adjustments as necessary
  • Build inventory processes and systems to provide better support to operational departments including recurring and ad hoc reporting and analysis
  • Oversee supplier management to include streamlining existing suppliers, evaluating potential new suppliers and maximizing purchasing potential
  • Management of inventory control personnel and processes to ensure healthy parts inventory
  • Work with parts operations to provide input into planning & budgeting by forecasting revenues, expenses and capital assets
  • Partner with CAT corporate and Louisiana Cat leadership on inventory management processes and initiatives

MOST IMPORTANT QUALIFICATIONS

  • Preferred: AS400 based ERP experience
  • Required: 3-5 years of experience in parts and/or inventory management
  • Required: Valid Driver's License with clean driving record
  • Required: High School Diploma; Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in Logistics/Inventory Management, Accounting or Business Administration is preferred
  • Highly Preferred: Caterpillar Corporate or Cat dealership experience
  • Required: Previous supply chain, order management, or logistics experience
  • Required: Ability to multi-task with robust problem-solving skills
  • Required: Excellent leadership, communication, customer relations, and organizational skills
  • Required: Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Excel, with the ability to quickly learn new programs
