For our sourcing project in Latin America, summer of 2023, we are looking for a:


Sourcing & Sustainability Intern


Tradin Organic has a long track record of success sourcing organic food ingredients and developing organic production programs in Latin America. As worldwide demand for organic products continues to grow, Tradin will continue to strengthen and expand sourcing capacity in Latin America, the second-largest organic production region in the world. During this internship you will work closely with the regionally based sourcing team in Latin America to identify and develop new organic sourcing opportunities including on key items such as citrus, oilseeds, tropical fruits and nuts. The internship will consist mainly of travel in and around Latin America, with a specific country itinerary established at the start of the assignment. The internship will start around summer 2023 and will last 4 to 6 months.


Responsibilities and objectives

  • Conduct due diligence of suppliers including site visits to farms and processing facilities, often in coordination with the Quality Assurance team;
  • Identify and connect with high potential suppliers of organic ingredients for the Tradin Organic portfolio;
  • Conduct desk research to identify suppliers, locate organic hot spots, and evaluate competitiveness;
  • Develop written reports and databases that profile identified suppliers and outline key findings;
  • Support Tradin Organic’s sustainability and marketing team by capturing and relaying information about our supply partners and projects;
  • Work with the Sourcing team in Amsterdam on additional requests as required.
  • Communicate with key market players and actors in the organic industry of the focus region;




  • Professional proficiency in English and Spanish; Portuguese a plus;
  • Fulltime (40 hours) availability starting in summer of 2023;
  • Detail-oriented and structured work approach;
  • Knowledge of organic and food safety certifications is a strong asset;
  • Field experience in developing countries, preferably in Latin America, strongly preferred;
  • Ability to adapt and work independently in a challenging working environment;
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills including report writing and presentation;
  • Flexibility to travel throughout Latin America in often remote, rural areas.
  • Currently studying for a Bachelor or Master’s degree in agribusiness/operations management, international business, food technology or a related field;
