About Us


Middle Georgia State University (MGA), a multi-campus, baccalaureate and graduate degree granting public institution, is the most affordable public state university in Georgia. Job Summary


This position will be responsible for recruiting international students at Middle Georgia State University in the Office of Admissions and Recruitment. The international recruiter will be responsible for managing a recruitment territory to support the University's enrollment plan. This position will specialize in international student recruitment but will provide assistance to the recruitment strategies at large.

Responsibilities


Territory Management -

  • Travels to recruitment events to provide information to guidance counselors, parents, high school students, and non-traditional students.
  • Analyzes data to determine primary, secondary and tertiary schools for recruitment purposes, overall and within recruitment territory.
  • Plans, schedules, and manages recruitment events and activities locally and internationally.
  • Contributes to the development of an international student recruitment strategy.

Customer Experience Management -

  • Conducts campus tours for prospective students and parents.
  • Assists with University open house, preview days, and other enrollment events.
  • Provides "case management" approach leading prospective students through the admission and enrollment process which includes a variety of communication strategies.

Administrative Duties -

  • Assists with the operation of the student information and correspondence system.
  • Review and evaluate international applicants.
  • Attends professional meetings and training workshops.
  • Assists with the development of promotional literature.
  • Maintains records of events and contacts.

Performs a Variety of Related Duties -

  • Promotes and enhances community partnerships and relationships through collaboration with Academic Affairs and other Campus Stakeholders.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications


Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
Other Required Qualifications
Ability to travel internationally.
Possess a valid passport and valid driver's license.
Willing to work some evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Related experience in admissions, international recruitment, or other higher education activities.
  • Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similiar position for one to two years.
