EAC Network, a not-for-profit social service agency that empowers, assists, and cares for a over 65,000 people in need through 100 programs across Long Island and NYC, seeks an HR Intern to work part time for the Human Resources Department.

The Intern-HR position is a non-exempt position paying $18 per hour at 28 hours per week. The position is temporary for a duration of 18 week. The hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9:00AM-5:00PM and the office is located in Garden City, NY. The role reports to the HR Director of Talent Management.


Measurable Objectives:

  • To assist the HR Department in handling administrative tasks pertaining to Recruitment
  • Maintaining and organizing records and personnel files.
  • Preparing for recruitment needs and efforts.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with recruiting efforts, job fair, and marketing events.
    • Review applications/ resumes and assess who should move on to screening based on resume and pre-interview questions.
    • Screen candidates via a live or virtual interview and decide as to which candidates move on to second-round interviews.
    • Schedule and confirm interviews with candidates.
    • Update databases and related channels for sourcing candidates.

  • Gaining exposure and experience with HRIS system.
  • Assisting with facilitation of the New Hire Orientation.
  • Support HR department in assisting with clerical workload as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:

  • Some knowledge of computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, Microsoft Office applications, calendar, and email and/or database software necessary to perform work assignments a big plus.
  • Must have pleasant phone manner and good interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Able to conduct self in a professional manner.
