Job Description
About Us
Level99 is a first-of-its-kind entertainment experience, which opened its proof-of-concept venue in Natick MA in June 2021. A massive World of Challenges, over 48,000 square feet in size, Level99 offers a physical open-world game environment where groups of 2-6 guests choose from over 40 rooms, each containing a unique physical or mental team challenge. Coupled with craft drinks and food in the Night Shift Beer Hall and an authentic brewery dining experience in the Night Shift Tap Room & Kitchen, Level99 is an exciting new entertainment experience designed for young adults. More information is available at www.level99.com.
A young, entrepreneurial company, Level99 has immediate plans to expand in size, opening four new locations in the next 24 months. We are venture backed with 8-figure financing and have an amazing team that has worked on such successful entertainment projects as 5 Wits, Boda Borg, Blue Man Group, and Walt Disney Imagineering. This position is an opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual to dive into a fast-paced, dynamic environment and experience a true growth company, where you can apply your skills in a fun and exciting setting that brings joy and entertainment to hundreds of thousands of people.

The Interior Designer will play a key role in creating immersive and visually stunning environments that captivate our guests, in spaces ranging from dining areas, to our immersive gameplay arena, to customer support spaces . You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to bring our creative visions to life. This is an exciting opportunity to push the boundaries of design and create immersive spaces that leave a lasting impression on our guests.
A Level99 Interior Designer has honesty and personal integrity that is above reproach, prefers a joyful and positive approach to challenging conversations and situations, chooses humility over the need to “be right,” and in all things acts as though you are the Owner and Operator of their venue.
Responsibilities Of This Position Will Include
  • Work with the team to develop and refine Level99’s design standards and a best-in-class “kit of parts” playbook for new venue development
  • Other duties, as assigned
  • Maintain a positive, upbeat, pro-active attitude and inspire the same in fellow team members
  • Present design concepts, mood boards, and visualizations to stakeholders, incorporating feedback and refining designs as necessary.
  • Maintain documentation, including design specifications, drawings, and schedules, to ensure clear communication and seamless coordination among project teams
  • Conduct research and stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously enhance the quality and uniqueness of our experiences.
  • Create detailed interior design plans, including floorplans, layouts, takeoffs, and assembling choices on materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, lighting, and artwork, while considering factors such as functionality, safety, and durability.
  • Provide guidance and support to production teams during the fabrication and installation processes to ensure accurate execution of the interior design concepts.
  • Develop innovative and highly functional interior design concepts and studies to help with evaluating design alternatives that align with the overall creative vision of the Level99 experience.
  • Think high-level (strategically) to align interior design choices with our voice and concept essence, creating design criteria and success criteria to systematize our design process
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of interior design elements with other artistic and technical aspects of the experiences.
  • Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to source and select materials, furniture, and decor items that align with the creative vision and meet budgetary requirements.
While we don’t expect a candidate to have deep experience in all of the above, we’re looking for someone with the passion and capability to learn quickly in the areas that are new!
YOU MIGHT BE A FIT ON THE LEVEL99 TEAM IF YOU…
  • Have a high energy personality, the kind of person who is typically smiling, and likes to "get it done now"
  • Have a high tolerance for ambiguity, like to go fast, and are excited to learn on the job
  • Are a self-starter who sees what needs to be done, forms a plan, and dives in
  • Are just a little bit obsessive about getting the details right the first time
  • Have a passion for location-based entertainment and high-quality dining and a desire to push the boundaries of creativity
  • Like to laugh, would be described as a "low maintenance, low drama" person, have a tendency to have a bit of fun while you work
Must-have Skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively convey design concepts and ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. A positive, joyful, upbeat and energetic attitude
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities
  • Proficiency in industry-standard design software such as AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar 3D visualization tools
  • Excellent spatial awareness and attention to detail
  • Willingness to "roll up your sleeves" and get into the details as a team player with a "get things done" proactive attitude
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Other Desirable (but Not Necessary) Skills & Experience Include
  • Proven experience in designing immersive, thematic, and/or dining spaces, preferably in the entertainment, restaurant, hospitality, or related industries.
  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
