TEAM INTRODUCTION
TikTok AR Effect team is seeking experienced software engineers with computer graphics, gaming or AR/VR experience to build innovative real-time AR capabilities on mobile. We are building the next generation AR Effect platform with cutting-edge AI/CV/CG technologies, powering many important product features such as creative interactions, game effects, branded effects, video VFX, and intelligent video editing for content generation and consumption, live streaming, monetization, e-commence, social media and etc.
Our ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable working in a dynamic and creative environment. You will work closely with artists, designers and researchers to develop new capabilities in CG/AR/ML/CV.
We are looking for talented individuals to join us for an internship in 2024. Internships at TikTok aim to offer students industry exposure and hands-on experience. Turn your ambitions into reality as your inspiration brings infinite opportunities at TikTok.
Internships at TikTok aim to provide students with hands-on experience in developing fundamental skills and exploring potential career paths. A vibrant blend of social events and enriching development workshops will be available for you to explore. Here, you will utilize your knowledge in real-world scenarios while laying a strong foundation for personal and professional growth.
This Internship Program runs for 12 weeks beginning in May/June 2024. Successful candidates must be able to commit to one of the following summer internship cycles below:
1.May 20, 2024 to August 9, 2024
2.May 27, 2024 to August 16, 2024
3.June 10, 2024 to August 30, 2024
We will prioritize candidates who are able to commit to these start dates. Please state your availability clearly in your resume (Start date, End date).

Online Assessment
Candidates who pass resume evaluation will be invited to participate in TikTok's technical online assessment in HackerRank.
RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build SDK that houses AI technologies and high-performance graphics rendering engine
• Investigate and build cutting edge AI features for TikTok's camera effect platform
• Profile and optimize real-time systems to achieve the best performance possible
• Design and implement software architecture and frameworks for camera and effect processing pipelines

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science
• Familiar with graphics rendering APIs and game engine architecture
• Excellent spoken and written communication
• Proficient in C/C++
• AI/CG/ML/AR knowledge and development experience
• Strong understanding of programming paradigms and design patterns

Preferred:

• M.S or Ph.D. with AI, ML or CG specialization
• Familiar with major game engine such as Unity or Unreal
• Experience in performance optimization for mobile
• Experience in building or utilizing AIGC or LLM technologies

Job Information
The hourly rate range for this position in the selected city is $45- $45. We cover 100% premium coverage for Full-Time intern medical insurance after 90 days from the date of hire. Medical coverage only, no dental or vision coverage.
