Intellectual Property Litigation Paralegal (Entry-Level)

What do we need?

We are looking for motivated entry-level candidates to join our firm as a Paralegal in our Trial & Appellate (Litigation) Group. We need candidates who can respond quickly to shifting demands and thrive while working under tight deadlines. Successful paralegals in our Trial & Appellate Group are able to deliver a high-quality work product and work independently with minimal supervision. Paralegals should be willing to work a hybrid schedule from the DC metro area and/or willing to relocate to the DC metro area. We expect some travel to trial locations, depending on trial schedules.

How will you make an impact?

• Providing litigation and trial support to the practice group as necessary.
• Maintaining and monitoring litigation docket and due dates.
• Organizing logistics for patent-based trials, maintaining litigation files, summarizing depositions, organizing exhibits, preparing case notebooks, simple pleadings and litigation documents as well as deposition binders and exhibits, cite checking pleadings, reviewing litigation production documents, and other litigation and trial support.
• Miscellaneous other responsibilities as assigned.
• Typing and preparing correspondence, memos, forms and other documentation as assigned; copy documents as necessary; proof all work on a routine basis.
• Prioritizing workload, flexible to respond quickly to shifting demands, ability to work under time constraints, and handle multiple detailed tasks simultaneously.
• Maintaining a working knowledge of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP) and Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure (FRAP).
• Retrieving and filing information at various government agencies and courts as necessary.

What will you bring to the role?

• Strong academic credentials and Bachelor's degree preferred. Paralegal certificate preferred, but not required.
• Must be flexible to work overtime on an as-needed basis.
• Successful independent proofreading abilities.
• Propensity for highly detailed work.
• Must possess ability to independently manage your own workload.
• Strong desire to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.

The base salary for this position is $55,000.
