- Submit all documentation to Program Supervisor within given deadlines
- Completes developmental screenings (ASQ-3, ASQ-SE, or SWYC) during well-child visits as scheduled by the program. Reviews the results and refers parents/caregivers to the HealthySteps Developmental Specialists to assist in identifying areas of concern
- Complete maternal depression screening: The Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale [EPDS] or Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ) with all mothers postpartum. Referrals and follow-up will be made by HealthySteps Developmental Specialists if necessary
- Participate in Performance and Quality Improvement-related activities as needed
- Participate in monthly supervision or as agreed upon with the Program Supervisor
- Provide the highest quality of care to the clients served
- Complete additional screening, if applicable per the contract
- Stay current on the latest research and evidence-based practices in early childhood and family support and incorporate this information into delivery of service
- Display and monitor sensitivity to the service populations cultural and socioeconomic characteristics
- Demonstrate ability to connect, empathize, and show dedication to serving underserved children, and their families
- Inform supervisor of any possible signs of child abuse immediately
- Participate in a monthly staff meeting
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Participates and provides support to HealthySteps Developmental Specialist with the enrollment of babies and toddlers in the pediatric practice
- Ability to support Data Specialist with uploading, collecting, and entering data in record-keeping database for program management, evaluation, and reporting purposes (i.e. Trust Central, Google Drive, Google Sheets)
- Non-Exempt
- Must be flexible to meet program needs
- Regular hours entail 9:00am-5:00pm, Monday - Friday
- Knowledgeable in areas of child development, infant mental health, family functioning, and early intervention
- Skilled in collaborating with other disciplines and services
- Ability to travel to all agency locations
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to add, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
- Ability to problem solve
- Excellent communication and organizational skills and ability to work in a flexible team environment
- Ability to read, write and speak in English. Ability to effectively communicate information both orally and written in one-to-one and small group situations to clients and other employees
- Cultural sensitivity skills required
- Ability to work independently with competent decision making using established criteria and guidelines
- Bachelors Degree in mental health or related field; child development preferred.
- Time driving and/or taking public transportation
- Ability to travel to all program sites
- Computer work requires sitting at a desk for long periods of time
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- May be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
