As an Insurance Verifier, you will play a vital role in our team. You will verify insurance policy benefit information and obtain authorization/precertification before the patient's visit or scheduled admission or immediately following admission. You will also assist in identifying problems and ensure that insurance information is accurate on the patient's account, and assure that appropriate referrals have been obtained.
Some of your key accountabilities will include verifying insurance policy benefits for new and returning patients, documenting all pertinent insurance information, and educating patients and families on insurance issues in a professional manner. You will also be responsible for identifying patients without third-party financial benefits and directing them for financial counseling according to our Financial Counseling and Revenue Cycle policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, and at least three years of related experience. Some college experience is preferred. You must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
