The New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine in Jonesboro, Arkansas is currently seeking an Instructor/Faculty to support the Master in Public Health Program .


The mission of the Master in Public Health (MPH) Program is to promote health and well-being and develop a culturally aware public health workforce through innovative and collaborative approaches to education, scholarship, and service within local communities, our region, and the world. The program’s vision is to improve population health through the lens of health equity. The Public Health Program is housed within the Department of Clinical Medicine at NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine at Arkansas State University. The program prepares students to respond to the growing demand for public health and population health professionals who can transform data into policies and programs to improve health of individuals and communities.


Responsibilities


The Instructor/Faculty will be actively involved in all aspects of the MPH program, including:


  • Collaborate with public health faculty on developing externally funded projects based on professional public health expertise
  • Responsible for leading the strategic direction of the program in addition to supporting recruiting efforts, advising, and scheduling among other administrative duties
  • Take leadership role in the admissions process, and developing a retention plan for M.P.H. students
  • Conducting outreach to stakeholders locally and nationally to support expansion of the program
  • Marketing responsibilities include recruiting students to the program and representing the program at recruitment events
  • Admissions duties include managing the application systems enrolling and onboarding students
  • Coordinate curriculum development, consonant with accreditation requirements and reporting for CEPH
  • Oversight of the graduate and undergraduate programming in public health, including support of the respective graduate faculty and support staff
  • Responsible for content of Public Health Program, including faculty recruitment and retention
  • Facilitate course schedules and faculty teaching assignments, participate in recruiting and review of applications for graduate student admissions, develop activities (such as workshops, journal clubs and other professional development opportunities) for graduate students
  • Establish and lead MPH curriculum meetings, coordinate program improvement, lead curriculum improvement
  • Plan, establish, and evaluate strategic goals and milestones for the program, including maintaining contact with graduates to track outcomes
  • Advising students
  • Develop community partnership to support practicum learning courses
  • Collaborate with the appropriate committees, faculty members, and administrators in developing coursework, experiential learning, assessment of student outcomes and identifying strategies for continuous quality improvement including learning management systems and communication/educational software
  • Representing the M.P.H. program and NYIT at diverse institutional, community, and professional meetings
  • Preparing reports and supporting documents for accrediting bodies and administrative leadership at NYITCOM
  • Developing and maintaining recruiting materials for the program
  • Teaching masters-level courses based on the faculty member’s disciplinary expertise


Qualifications


  • Excellent skills and ability in planning, budgeting, and personnel management
  • A minimum an M.P.H record of program administration, with at least 5 years of significant experience in public health, public health education, or administration.
  • Experience and proficiency in using distance technologies for communications (webinars, online modules, or televideo, etc.)
  • Must value cultural differences, work independently, and motivate others
  • Intermittent travel is required
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks
