Are you looking for an opportunity to increase your skills and experience in the food service industry and in a management position? Do you have 5 years of lead or supervision experience or 2 years of experience and a related education degree? This is the perfect opportunity for you!! Two Rivers Correctional Institution (TRCI) is actively recruiting to fill a Food Service Manager 1.
TRCI has been fully operational since 2001 and has a total AIC capacity of 1,632. To lower costs and minimize AIC movements within the prison, it was designed to provide as many services as possible in the housing units. For instance, food trays are delivered to the housing units in heated carts. Outdoor activity yards are attached to each housing unit. Many programs are delivered on the housing units.

TRCI is designated as an education and work facility for long-term AICs. The focus of its programs is Adult Basic Education and GEDs. Cognitive programs that teach and encourage self-change are also available. Inside work activities include institution maintenance and a commercial laundry. The prison provides minimum-custody AIC work crews for community service projects. It also sends crews out daily for other work projects, under contract primarily to government agencies. AIC crews also work on landscaping projects on prison property.

What We Are Looking For
Your role
As the Food Service Manager, you will work with a team of Food Service Coordinators and Adults in Custody (AIC) in the ordering, storage, preparation, service, and disposal of food products at Two Rivers Correctional Institution.
You will partner with administrative staff and dieticians working from our central office to review and prepare the menu for the institution and provide special meals for religious and dietary needs. You will manage all aspect of the food service programs including personnel, budget, compliance, and representing your unit with stakeholders throughout the department.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Five years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience; OR
  • Two years of related experience AND a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

  • ServeSafe Certification (preferred not required)

Working Conditions
Work inside of an adult male correctional facility including frequent interactions with Adults in Custody. Prolonged use of computer terminals. After hour availability in the event of emergencies.
Requirements for Employment
You must be able to pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS)computer and fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following convictions are likely to result in being disqualified for this position: felony convictions, computer theft, identify theft and fraud. CJIS clearance is done at the conditional job offer.

The salary range listed above is for non-PERS qualifying applicants. PERS qualifying applicants may be eligible for an adjusted range. The State of Oregon provides a generous benefit package, which includes family health and dental insurance, optional short and long-term disability and term life insurance – all of which can be tailored to individual needs. Also provided are fully paid retirement program, modest life insurance policy, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave. Position may be eligible for Police & Fire (P&F) benefits through Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), as defined by statute.
