We are currently recruiting for the position of:
INSPECTOR, QUALITY CONTROL - 9999 Niblick Dr., Roseville, CA 95678


The Quality Control Inspector, Meat oversees the inspection of all perishable products throughout the duration of the distribution process to include, receiving, storage, and shipment in accordance with Save Mart’s established quality standards. The position partners with the Procurement, Warehouse and Total Loss teams to accurately report the quality and safety of merchandise.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Ensure Save Mart’s established quality standards are met at the time of receipt and shipment of perishable commodities through effective inspection of quality, temperature and freshness.
  • Review, monitor and report product inventory through visual inspection and system generated inspection.
  • Report the product quality, product age, inventory status and product rejection to the Procurement Team.
  • Maintain and monitor food safety controls and processes in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Hiring pay range: $21.11 - 30.36


Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
:

  • Knowledge of warehouse and inventory practices and systems
  • Knowledge of United States Department of Agriculture (U.S.D.A.) standards and inspection process
  • Knowledge of the Food Safety Modernization Act (F.S.M.A.), applicable rules
  • Knowledge of Import/Export requirements, as well as Market ordering requirements
  • Knowledge of County of Origin Labeling (C.O.O.L.) and the Identity, Responsibility and Quantity (I.R.Q.) requirements
  • Proficient with computer skills (Exporting from Triceps, Word and Excel)
  • Proficient with organization and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Ability to work in a busy (warehouse) environment handling multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with deadlines
  • Able to walk and stand for long periods of time

Education: Two-year college degree or equivalent knowledge gained through formal education, specialized training, or additional job experience

Experience: Three-years of related experience

Other: Must be available for flexible schedules and after hours on-call work. Maintain timely and regular attendance. Must be able to work overtime, when needed.

Physical: Warehouse and office environment: ability to sit, kneel, stoop, use stairs, reach, pull, bend, squat, and lift objects up to 40 lbs; occasionally required to lift greater than 40 lbs.; ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
