The Opportunity

This position works out of our Arecibo location in the CRM division. As a global leader in Cardiac Rhythm Technologies, we focus on innovative technologies that can improve the way doctors treat people with heart arrhythmias, or irregular heartbeats.

Shift: second (2:30 pm-11:00 pm), Monday to Friday

As the Quality Inspector, you will use fixed or variable measuring instruments (including sight inspection) to inspect incoming parts, work in progress product, and/or finished product; checking for conformance of the product or process as defined by specifications. The Quality Inspector uses established procedures to conduct routine and repetitive inspections and works under direct supervision to perform assigned tasks.

What You’ll Do

  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Participate in internal quality audits as requested by management and assist in the development and implementation of updated inspection procedures.
  • Perform incoming/in-process inspection, final inspection, and testing of product and/or materials according to applicable specifications, standards; using required equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all Abbott procedures and all applicable regulatory agency requirements.
  • Complete/prepare applicable documentation reporting all inspection results. Based on results of inspection; allows release of goods to the next process. If non-conformance is observed; the inspector documents the non-conformance, identifies and segregate the impacted material and/or product, as applicable.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have the capacity to calculate, coordinate, detect, evaluate, inspect, and collect detailed information.
  • 1+ years of experience in an inspection role in a Medical Device or Pharmaceutical environment is preferred.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred – as a minimum must be able to follow written procedures in both languages (English and Spanish).
  • Must have good math aptitude, good vision, and capable of accurately utilizing detailed measurement instruments for extended periods of time.
  • Must have mechanical aptitude certifications as may be required for the position.
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior knowledge of QSR, statistics, ISO, CAPA is preferred.

The base pay for this position is $11.07 – $19.93 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
