Job Description

Summary:

The Inside Sales Representative role with Metal Sales provides an opportunity to learn about the metal manufacturing industry while working alongside our Territory Sales Managers and other branch personnel.

Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation is the nation’s largest manufacturer of metal roofing and building systems with 21 locations across America. This position engages with our customer base in a sales activity driven role. The role is based in our Rogers, MN branch and supports customers in Minnesota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. At times, outside sales activities will be required.

The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial attitude, the ability to multi-task in a rapidly changing environment, strong communication skills, be proficient at regularly turning quotes into sales, and promoting/supporting our online ordering platform. Opportunities to grow into an outside territory sales position are available for interested and qualified Inside Sales Representatives.

Let us tell you about the responsibilities and expectations of this role to ensure we are the right fit for each other.

You’ll be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Recording sales activities in our CRM system.
  • Soliciting new customers and partnering with Territory Sales Managers to improve contacts among key and target customers.
  • Driving the adoption and ongoing promotion of our online ordering platform. This includes customer identification, support and training, marketing, and overall strategy.
  • Being the primary contact for a dedicated customer list and performing various inside sales activities such as calls, appointments, customer service etc.
  • Managing the follow-up on all branch sales quotes to improve closing ratios.

Job Requirements:

The most qualified candidates will have:

  • Associate degree or higher preferred, HS degree or equivalent required
  • Experience in a dedicated customer service and/or sales focused environment (inside sales or outside sales) and experience utilizing a CRM tool
  • Building products, specifically roofing products, knowledge is preferred, but not required
  • NetSuite ERP and quoting software experience a plus, knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint is required
  • The ability to travel up to 25% of the time locally/regionally to perform outside sales activities
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and problem-solving abilities
