Job Description
Job Summary


Responsible for assessing patient financial responsibility through price estimation, providing benefit education for all insured and uninsured patients, and assists patients in securing financial assistance. Accepts patient payments, is a back-up to the financial counselor/cashier, and reconciles accounts that are in an unbilled status.


Minimum Qualifications


Education: High school diploma or GED.


Experience: At least 1 year of patient access experience preferred.


Licensure/Certification:N/A

Knowledge/Skills:Hospital billing and/or registration knowledge. Insurance verification, eligibility, and/or accounts receivable experience. Pre-certification, authorization, and medical terminology.


Other:Potential hazards include depth perception and use of latex gloves.
