Job Description

The Infrastructure Architect will lead the design and implementation or enhancement of information systems that address DFJ/DA business requirements and support the DFJ/DA segment architecture design and direction. The Infrastructure Architect works with the Director of IT Operations to prescribe the necessary technical infrastructure for development of new solutions in either on-prem, hybrid, or dedicated cloud environments. The Infrastructure Architect assures that solutions can be implemented across multiple cloud, hybrid setups and on-prem environments and that data authentication, encryption and authorization security requirements are addressed by baseline data and applications infrastructure patterns. The Infrastructure Architect will maintain a detailed view of DFJ/DA infrastructure environments including network designs, infrastructure setups, initial run books and security domains, in on-prem, hybrid, or dedicated cloud environments in use by DFJ/DA. The Infrastructure Architect will participate in the development and adoption by DFJ of the Enterprise Architecture Framework, including defining processes, standards and best practices, and maintaining proficiency in chosen DFJ/DA governance tools (i.e. Alfabet, ARIS, ServiceNOW, Smartsheet, Azure DevOPS).

Principal Duties/Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Work with the Enterprise Architecture team to help lead proofs of concept or studies to support new business and IT initiatives
  • Define and maintain the Infrastructure Architecture Strategy (on-prem and cloud) that is in accordance with IT and the DFJ/DA business, data, and applications segment architecture strategy
  • Lead the continuous improvement efforts within the IS Architecture group through developing and sharing deep expertise in particular subject areas
  • Perform infrastructure architecture feasibility in support of overall solution/application architecture feasibility assessments. Ensure propositions are compatible with existing DFJ and 3rd party SaaS solutions and work with offshore DA environments to which DFJ solutions are integrated.
  • Accountable for the creation and maintenance of infrastructure architecture diagram descriptions documentation and templates of information using approved EA tooling
  • Accountable for the TO-BE infrastructure architecture propositions for new business initiatives and their attendant IT projects
  • Present infrastructure architecture designs in an understandable manner to both business and IT stakeholders and in a way that operations (and managed services providers) can implement and support
  • Responsible for resolution and root cause analysis acting as Tier 3 Level Support in systems and network environments, working with the DFJ IT Operations team.
  • Ensure implemented infrastructure architectures meet DFJ/DA agreements regarding zero-trust protection and authentication/encryption/authorization of data and data tagging
  • Monitor infrastructure technology trends, particularly in the areas of cross-cloud API management, scaling (Azure) cloud resources COST EFFECTIVELY, regularly brief senior management on possible new technologies or infrastructure architecture designs
  • Lead the infrastructure architecture strategy and design efforts associated with all implementation or enhancement initiatives
  • Contribute to the Operations Management, Enterprise Architecture, and managed services provider (vendor) teams in defining and maintaining the DFJ/DA infrastructure baseline
  • Be accountable to senior management for the accuracy of the infrastructure architecture baseline as documented using architecture tools (Alfabet, ARIS or similar)
