Job Description

Duties

As an Information Technology Specialist (APPSW) GS-2210-13, your typical work assignments may include:

  • Manages and maintains the public website, including monitoring the web analytics and usage of the site utilizing the Digital Analytics Program which is a cornerstone of the 2012 Digital Government Strategy. Supplies metrics in a dashboard to interested Agency personnel.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Designs and develops web-based solutions supporting the Agency public website which currently uses the Drupal open-source platform. Oversees the design, development, and operations and maintenance of the agency's public website.
  • Ensures that current case data is available on the agency's website for ongoing access by the public in a timely manner. Maintains all publicly available case data that is surfaced on the public website via a search service (e.g., Apache SOLR or Azure Cognitive Services).
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for the Agency Web Council, that is comprised of staff from various Board and General Counsel Offices. Makes recommendations to members of the Agency Web Council to improve the content and communication to public website stakeholders and members of the public.

Qualifications

Ideal Candidate Statement:
The Ideal Candidate applies knowledge of enterprise applications; web page design and applications software. A working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) is highly desired. Based on this knowledge, the candidate may provide guidance and advise on the various stage of securing contractual services. The candidate exercises independent judgement, has the demonstrated ability to multitask and provides exceptional customer service. Excellent communicative skills to present technical information in a clear, comprehensive manner is preferred.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

To be basically qualified for this position, applicants must have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level, which has provided them with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the Information Technology Specialist (Applications Software), at the GS-13 grade level in the following elements;
  • Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.

SPECIALIZED EXPEREINCE

In addition to the experience above, applicants must have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the Gs-12 grade level, which has provided them with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the Information Technology Specialist (Applications Software), at the GS-13 grade level.

Specialized experience includes:
  • Experience using IT security processes and protocol to ensure the protection of agency programs.
  • Experience providing technical advice and guidance to make recommendations on IT issues and/or provide solutions to IT related problems to improve program efficiency.
  • Experience using software such as enterprise applications and web page design to design, create and maintain an agency's website.
