LEADERSHIP and MANAGEMENT - Manages all aspects of the Informatics Section within the Division of Acute Disease Epidemiology (DADE), including supervision of section staff. Provides expertise in translating program needs into IT systems business processes. Provides leadership regarding information exchange, interoperable information systems, & innovation projects. Leads promoting interoperability and meaningful use activities across the agency. Uses Informatics to facilitate disease surveillance and reporting and dissemination and use of data for decision making to improve population health. Works with DADE epidemiologists, Data Management, Analytics and Support (DMAS) and other program staff to integrate and transform disparate data sources. Leads Informatics practices such as data automation, and dynamic reporting. Actively ensure safeguarding the PII & PHI when using surveillance data.


INNOVATION - Determines the feasibility and viability of innovation concepts (research, ideation, design, piloting and developing business case). Manages requirements from disease reporting partners to create the most efficient and streamlined reporting solutions in coordination with IT/Systems Integration. Provides expertise for quality improvement activities. Works closely with the DADE director, the DMAS section lead and the IT/Systems Integration team to develop a framework for the Informatics infrastructure in DADE, the Bureau of Communicable Disease Prevention and Control, and in the PH Deputy area in collaboration with other internal & external partners.


ADMINISTRATION - Writes grants and other funding proposals with respect to informatics, data systems, interoperability, and data governance to modernize and improve data systems. Leads and reviews related contract work. In coordination with the DADE director and other DADE Section Leads, actively participates in the development and implementation of division and bureau level strategies, initiatives, and processes.


Minimum And Additional Requirements


State Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree and relevant program management experience.


Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

Preferred Qualifications


Master’s degree or higher in Public Health, Technology Management, Business Administration, or related fields. Expertise in managing innovation tools, data/IT system interfaces, and interoperability. Extensive experience with technology management, data governance, project management tools, and data visualization technology. PMP, proficiency with tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, SAS, R, Python, and SQL.
