Job Summary: Assists in the maintenance and implementation of an Infection Prevention Program and Annual Plan for CarolinaEast Health System, in conjunction with the Manager of Infection Prevention, in accordance with The Joint Commission guidelines, local, state, and federal laws. Assists with surveillance, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of hospital associated infections. Responsible for educating healthcare providers and employees about infection prevention. This program encompasses all healthcare providers, hospital departments, outlying facilities, students, and volunteers with the primary goal being to prevent and to protect the employees, patients, and visitors from developing health care associated infections.
Minimum Requirements: Registered Nurse with current N.C. license or Medical Laboratory Scientist. Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field required. Certification in Infection Control preferred, required within three years. Completion of Infection Control and Prevention for Hospitals course by North Carolina Statewide Program for Infection Control and Epidemiology preferred, required within two years. Prefer at least three years of clinical experience and courses in epidemiology. Knowledgeable about Statistical Process Control. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
