Industrial Design Engineer Jobs

The Industrial Designer is a talented and passionate individual who is driven to create unique and empathic world-class design solutions. The Industrial Designer reports to the IDUX Director and is responsible for supporting the design and usability staff as well as leading projects with their creative concepts via CAD surfacing, CMF development, and persuasive renderings. You will be accountable for achieving the high-quality deliverables under tight timelines, budget constraints and competing projects. We are looking for motivated individuals who demonstrate good design range and are passionate about holistic product development. Responsibilities

1. Deliver sophisticated, emotional, and cohesive designs that balance an understanding of user experience, technology, market analytics, and aesthetics.
2. Conceptualize and visualize product concepts that improve value to customers by translating marketing requirements into compelling product designs.
3. Have an active role in leading, developing, and articulating design concepts, ideas, and directions as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
4. Assist team in client interaction and preparation.
5. Assist IDUX Director in crafting sales and marketing collateral.
6. Assist and work with engineers and vendors to solve design problems related to the user experience, usability, and appearance.
7. Present design progress with management and IDUX Director.
8. Work with Design Leads to craft innovative and appropriate user-centered solutions.

Qualifications

1. Self-starter with the ability to clarify ambiguous situations and not be afraid to fail and learn.
2. Passion for working with a collaborative, multidisciplinary creative team.
3. Innate curiosity and eagerness to learn about new technology, socio-cultural trends, and human behaviors.
4. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Solidworks, Keyshot and related 2D/3D design software.
5. Highly proficient at rapid sketching or digital ideation to communicate form, features, and style.
6. Skilled communicator with the ability to verbally express concept ideas, characteristics, and rationale through hand-sketched concept drawings and electronic renderings, models, mechanical drawings and written reports.
7. Candidates must submit a resume, cover letter, and present a portfolio of their work virtually.
8. Basic understanding of manufacturing processes.

Education and Experience:

1. Degree in Industrial Design or equivalent experience
2. 2+ years working experience
3. Experience in developing medical devices or regulated products a plus
4. Experience in multidisciplinary product development a plus
