Job Description
Position Summary


This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day work of an internal team of Associates within the Supply Chain Department. This position supervises the workload and audit of ocean freight spend and import merchandise pay authorization to accounts payable.


Responsibilities


  • Provide daily support for track and trace of RTG Furniture's ocean freight.
  • Work with other managers in Finance & Accounting to establish and enforce internal controls.
  • Documentation and evolution of best practices for training guides, and import freight audit standards.
  • Coordinate and complete audits as requested.
  • Supervise direct reports - manage staffing, workload, development, etc.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Support management with demurrage and detention statements with direct ocean carriers and freight forwarders.
  • Establish and send out weekly summaries of freight invoices and payment totals.
  • Ensure all appropriate accounts are reviewed, necessary adjustments are made, material variances are identified and explained.
  • Partner with data analytics/development team to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Perform and review ocean freight account reconciliations.


Requirements


  • Ability to maintain all job-related information in a confidential and private manner.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to think independently, take corrective action, and to resolve employee inquiries and requests for information.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in a variety of situations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence.
  • 4+ years of related logistics / ocean freight experience, preferably with at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to act independently and take initiative to solve problems, implement solutions, and create new processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively present and communicate with all levels within the organization, external agencies and vendors.
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to handle multiple priorities, meet demanding deadlines and adjust to sudden changes in workflow.
  • Knowledge of Ocean Freight contracts, logistics and transportation manager, Microsoft Office.
