Food Import Logistics Manager

This Logistics Manager role will oversee the international and domestic logistics activities, as well as manage the logistics team. Success within this Logistics Manager role will require strong leadership traits, time management skills, and the ability to delegate through clearly communicating scope, expectations, and priority.

Responsibilities

• Hire, direct, and train department personnel in roles and responsibilities regarding logistics processes and procedures.
• Hire, direct, and train department personnel in roles and responsibilities regarding logistics processes and procedures.
• Manage key accounts, setting an example for logistics coordinators.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as sales/procurement, quality, and trade compliance to optimize logistics strategies and operations.
• Develop and manage relationships with logistics providers and carriers.
• Manage and lead the logistics team, providing guidance and support to ensure individual and team success.
• Oversee logistics operations to ensure cost-effectiveness, timely delivery of shipments, and compliance with regulations.
• Manage inventory levels and coordinate product availability with sales team.
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to importing and exporting frozen food products.

Experience

• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify and solve complex logistics challenges.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in logistics management, with at least 5 years managing a logistics team.
• Proven ability to manage and motivate teams, delegate effectively, and achieve results.
• Strong knowledge of international and domestic logistics operations, regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Experience with inventory management and supply chain optimization.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with minimal supervision is required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and logistics software.
• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
