In the role of Housekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining the Community interior, including residents’ apartments, in a clean and sanitary fashion and in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
  • Launder all linens by washing and drying in the laundry facilities provided.
  • Courteously and clearly review the menu of the meal, take resident orders, and serve meals and desserts.
  • Ability to retain orders (up to four at one time).
  • Communicate effectively in English with employees and residents.
  • Resident apartments also include cleaning and defrost refrigerators (as needed), cleaning and checking heat system filters, etc., changing the bed and linens, and ensuring adequate linen supplies in each apartment. Turn mattress (with assistance) as necessary and empty waste baskets.
  • Server Responsibilities
  • Provide general housekeeping for both the Community as a whole and individual resident apartments. This includes but is not limited to, vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning the main entryway, common areas, dining room, hallways, patios, and resident apartments.
  • May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.
  • Return cart to the kitchen and assist with storage of perishable items. If needed, deliver trays to resident rooms.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Complete side work – fill sugar holders, replenish creamers, clean coffeemaker, etc.
  • Greet residents and guests at each table with a smile to serve beverages, cereals, and/or soups/salads from the cart.
  • Housekeeping Responsibilities
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Follow Company sanitation and safety procedures.
  • Provide deep cleaning of apartments as needed. Pay special attention to the main entry area, focusing on carpets, plants, pictures, railings, windows, and light fixtures.
  • General knowledge of sanitation and safe food handling practices.
  • Bus and clear dishes from tables after meals and reset for the next meal following proper sanitizing procedures for tables and chairs as outlined in the Food Service Guidelines. Vacuum carpets, etc.

  • Able to work various schedules and shifts as needed.
  • Porters will be required to work with caustic materials and cleaning equipment in order to fulfill their job responsibilities. They must be able to understand English well enough to read and comply with safety instructions for proper use of such materials and machinery to protect themselves and others (employees, residents and guests) from injury.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain all grounds; including sidewalks, public walkways and stairways, building exteriors, garden areas in a neat, clean and attractive condition.
  • Able to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • Able to safely use basic maintenance and landscape related hand tools and light power tools, such as shovels, rakes, blowers, mowers, drills, saws, sanders, buffers, vacuuming, extractors, etc.
  • Reports potentially unsafe conditions promptly to Supervisor.
  • Provide cleaning services for business offices, apartments, interior and exterior public and common areas and amenities of the community in a safe, neat, clean and attractive condition.
  • Mows lawn, trims shrubbery, and cultivates flowers (varies by community).
  • Must successfully complete all Atria specified training programs.
  • Performs basic maintenance related work requests.
  • Notifies management concerning need for repairs.
  • Able to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Able to perform these operations using units of United States’ currency and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Compact and remove trash and debris from community areas.
  • Provide floor care services for carpet, tile, and wood floors and may include vacuuming, extracting, buffing, sealing, stripping, etc.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness in work performed.
