Job Description
The Fairways of Ironhorse is looking for a detail oriented housekeeper with a positive attitude and desire to work with an amazing group of retirees. Our perfect applicant would maintain consistent attendance, have a high standard for their work performance, and always looking for an opportunity to exceed expectations. Key Job Duties and Responsibilities: The Housekeeper performs various cleaning tasks to ensure the cleanliness of the facility including but not limited to resident rooms, bathrooms, dining areas, hallways, common areas and offices. The tasks include but not limited to mopping, vacuuming, scrubbings, sweeping, dusting, polishing and buffing. The following is a general list of key job duties and responsibilities in your position. The list is not to be considered inclusive and you will be required to perform other duties/responsibilities as assigned by an authorized supervisor. Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Primary Physical Requirements:
  • Lift up to 10 lbs: Constantly
  • Reach above should height: Constantly
  • At least two year’s housekeeping experience required.
  • Hand Manipulation:
  • Must be able to perform the essential position functions of the job with, or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Employees may be required to operate and automobile and various games.
  • Carry 11 to 25 lbs: Constantly
  • Assure compliance to all State and Federal regulations including blood borne pathogens, infection control, use of hazardous materials and fire safety.
  • Carry over 50 lbs: Rarely
  • Push/Pull: Constantly
  • Lift 11 to 25 lbs: Frequently
  • Carry 26 to 50 lbs: Rarely
  • Fingering: Frequently
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all resident and family information.
  • Must be able to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
  • If required to operate a motor vehicle for business purposes, must successfully complete the requirements contained in Company’s Motor Vehicles policy.
  • Regular worksite attendance.
  • Treat residents, family members, visitors, and team members with respect and dignity.
  • Comply with the Facility’s personnel, safety, and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Clean mirrors and windows.

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
  • Clean bathrooms including sinks, toilets, grab bars, floors walls and showers.
  • Report witnessed or reported allegations of resident abuse/neglect immediately to the Executive Director, RCC or Charge Nurse on Duty.
  • Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and, at times, hostile people within the Facility.
  • Maintains resident confidentiality at all times. Essential Job/Physical Requirements: The following is a general list of key job/physical requirements for your position. The list is not to be considered inclusive and other job/physical requirements may be necessary as deemed by the Facility.
  • Move furniture to ensure cleanliness.
  • Required to strip and wax floors according to schedule.
  • Dust ceilings, vents, lights and other high areas regularly.
  • Reach at shoulder height: Constantly
  • Sweeps and mops tile and linoleum floors.
  • Other Physical Considerations
  • Twisting, Bending, Crawling, Squatting, Kneeling, Crouching, Climbing and Balancing are all required.
  • Employee is required to use a transfer/gait belt or to obtain the assistance of another employee when attempting to assist residents when lifting or carrying objects in excess of 25 pounds. The employee must be aware that during the normal, routine performance of the essential functions, some of the following body movements may occur naturally, although they may not be a requirement of the job.
  • Handling: Constantly
  • Clean mattresses and beds according to schedule, flip mattresses if needed.
  • Clean dining areas after meals and special events.
  • Vacuum resident rooms, halls and common areas with carpeting.
  • Lift over 50 lbs: Rarely
  • Lift 26 to 50 lbs: Occasionally
  • Empty and clean trashcans and barrels.
  • Grasping: Constantly
  • Report to work on time and as scheduled.
  • Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
  • Torquing: Frequently
  • Clean all common areas, employee break rooms, visitor toilets, sinks, hallways and handrails.
