Hospicare & Palliative Care Services of Cortland and Tompkins Counties is hiring Certified Home Health Aides (HHA) to provide compassionate, skilled care to our patients either in our hospice residence or in their own homes. We've increased our starting pay for Home Health Aides to $19.20 per hour and offer a shift differential for evening, overnight, and weekend shifts. We have both full- and part-time positions available.

Our Hospice Residence facility on South Hill in Ithaca is a beautiful space where residents and staff have views of our pond and landscaped grounds, where every shift has an RN and HHA team serving no more than 6 patients at a time, and where volunteers bring food and companionship to residents and their families. Hospicare is hiring Home Health Aides for both of the following schedules:

• Evening (3pm-11pm) for 24 hours per week
• Overnight (11pm-7am) for 32 hours per week

These Home Health Aide positions are benefit-eligible. We offer medical, dental, vision, short- and long-term disability, supplemental life insurance, basic life and AD&D, and 403(b) plan with employer match.
Requirements:
Requirements of a Home Health Aide (HHA)

• Able to function as a team member
• Able to relate well to terminally ill patients and their families
• Maintains patient and caregiver confidentiality
• Understands and is committed to the hospice philosophy of care
• Has two (2) years experience in acute care (preferred)
• Is a Certified Home Health Aide (HHA) in New York State (preferred)
• Able to relate to and care for diverse groups of people in a calm, courteous and professional manner
• Has experience in hospice and/or home care (preferred)

If you are a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) or Personal Care Aide (PCA) and would like to upgrade your credential to a Certified Home Health Aide (HHA), we want to hear from you! We work with local partners to provide training and encourage you to use your new HHA for a minimum of six (6) months' employment with Hospicare.
