Home Health Aide (Hha) - Hospice

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced Certified Home Health Aide to join our busy hospice team in Santa Ynez Valley / Lompoc / Solvang. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and perform various important services to meet our patients' personal needs, promote patient comfort, and ensure a safe environment. As a Hospice HHA, you will be responsible for observing patients and accurately reporting/documenting your observations and the services provided.

This is a Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week position, with monthly weekend rotation.

We pay competitive hourly rates, paid travel time and mileage, and offer an excellent benefits package. You will also be eligible for a $1,000 sign on bonus if you are hired and start before 7/1/2023.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Current CPR (BLS) certification.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
• Must have current and active California Home Health Aide Certification.
• Ability to work with minimal direct supervision, but willing to ask for help when needed.
• Licensed driver with clean driving record and insured automobile
• Empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and impaired. Understands philosophy of hospice care and needs of the terminally ill.
• Five years of experience in home hospice, hospital, or nursing home setting.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Visual and auditory acuity
• Ability to sit for one hour, minimum.
• Ability to walk up one flight of stairs.
• Ability to walk one mile.
• Ability to push/pull 200 lbs.
• Ability to stoop, bend, and squat.
• Ability to transfer 170 pounds.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
