Position Summary

Assist customers and provide product information to increase sales. Role model and demonstrate the Company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety of self and others.

Fred Meyer also requires that all associates perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies & state/federal laws.

Essential Job Functions

• When working on night team:
• Provide customer service/sell to customers
• Model "Customer 1st" behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service
• Mix paint; make keys
• Maintain a clean, safe work area
• Promote/follow Company initiatives
• Stock merchandise, follow merchandising/stockroom standards
• Answer telephones/pagers
• Perform cashier functions, when needed
• Comply with corporate policies, ticketing and safety guidelines/standards

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Unload trucks; process freight; stock storage/container areas, displays
• Follow regulatory requirements of Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms/Explosives & state regulatory agencies
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work within set time frames
• Prepare for inventory
• Accuracy/attention to detail
• In non-CCK stores, may complete these Customer Service Desk duties:
• Price Changing: Complete all price changes prior to store opening, including price increases/decreases
• Complete all sales in a legal manner; file all required paperwork; process special orders accurately/ timely
• Ability to operate forklift, compactor, pallet jack, paint-mix machine, key-cutting machine, Shelf Price Audit (SPA), Enterprise Signs and Tags Printing (ESTP),Comtec, Swiftach
• Check merchandise received against invoice; remove pick-labels
• Complete planograms/composites; complete seasonal transitions; build ends & displays
• Oregon only-use electronic background check system
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
• Process refunds, exchanges, money orders/transfers, bill pay, gift cards, purchase orders, equipment rentals; provide lottery service (except Alaska) & fish/game licenses; send/receive faxes
• Ability to pass drug test
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or combination of relevant education and experience.If price changing-must have six months' clerk experience.
• Minimum 18 years of age/19 in Idaho
• Ordering: Order merchandise; maintain ordering system integrity; perform inventory control functions, as required
• Maintain required forms; update long term storage from the 14 day file
• Working with firearms:
• Maintain planograms, composites, ticketing for firearms per corporate standards
• Audit/maintain signage, including ends/displays; process price change paperwork; ensure UPC integrity; research/correct audits
• Evaluate questions; determine which need to be elevated to the HOM Manager/Divisional trainer
• Open/close desk
• Assist in daily firearms inventory
• Administer lost & found; run vendor reports
• Maintain confidentiality
• Emulate/advocate basic rules of firearm safety
• Ability to organize/prioritize tasks/projects
• Ability to work weekends on a regular basis, work any shift, overtime as needed

Working In Firearms

• Maintain current knowledge on firearms/sales techniques
• Ability to interpret/apply FM Firearms Sales Manual
• Familiarity with all regulatory requirements of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms/Explosives & state regulatory agencies

The final rate of pay is determined at store level based on prior equivalent work experience.
