Helper Reinforced Ironworker 1 Jobs

Helper Reinforced Ironworker 1 will construct, fabricate, modify, and secure steel bars and mesh using various types of fasteners and equipment in concrete forms to reinforce concrete structures.

Qualification Highlights

• Must be able to meet all physical requirements.
• Must be able to work at heights in excess of 300 ft.
• Must have 2 plus years of helper reinforced ironworker experience
• Must have all required tools.

Position Responsibilities

• Position and secure equipment such as rebar, mesh, end caps using bending machines, hand tools, fasteners and other metal working methods and tools.
• Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
• Fabricate equipment according to blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
• Cut, bend, and weld iron/steel pieces, using metal shears, torches, bending tools and welding equipment.
• Identify all tools required for tasks.
• Other task as assigned

• Formal/Technical education.
• Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
• Current Zachry or Zachry ROF’ed employee.
• National Center for Construction Education and Research’s (NCCER) certification for Industrial Journeyman Carpenter.
• Experience working with scaffolding, insulation, and painting.

This position does not have any direct reports.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.
• Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/spoggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves and leather steel-toed work boots. .
• Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting and lifting.
• May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.
• Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull: objects, materials, controls and tools.
• Will talk and hear to communicate.
• Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off of platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements.
