Job Summary

The Dozer Operator will operate the tractor and blade to level the soil, move rock and debris to other locations on the job site, and scoop out the soil. This opening is for our TxDOT SH 36 project in Brazoria, TX.

Essential Functions

• Communicate with others using verbal and non-verbal hand signals while operating equipment
• Work days, nights, and weekends as required
• Perform excavation of lime, flex base, and general sub-grade operations
• Follow all required company and general safety rules, policies, and guidelines
• Level the soil, move rock and debris to other locations on the job site, and scoop out soil
• Perform other construction-related duties as assigned by the supervisor
• Recognize hazardous conditions and report to the supervisor
• Equipment operation under the direction of the supervisor

Required Skills & Experience

• Valid driver license
• Basic knowledge of operating hand and power tools (hammers, sledgehammers, pry bars, screwdrivers, etc.)
• Previous experience with grade control systems preferred
• Flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends as needed
• Knowledge of finishing roadways
• Physical ability to perform assigned labor-related tasks (climbing ladders, climbing in and out of ditches, prolonged physical exertions, including standing. reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying)
• 3 plus years dozer experience on heavy highway road construction projects
• Physical ability to work in various conditions with exposure to weather elements
• Provide own hand tools, hammer, pouch, level, 8 crescent wrench, tape measure, etc., a plus
• Knowledge of how to properly read and understand construction plans, sketches, and blueprints
