Description
($79k - $104k+ per yr., DOE / Remote location on a Rotational Schedule)

This is a remote/ rotational position, working two weeks on and two weeks off or three weeks on and three weeks off, in Prudhoe Bay, AK. The typical schedule is 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half). All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location. Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided.

Job Purpose:

Responsible for all aspects of maintenance and the repairing of heavy and light equipment in and out of the shops.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Routinely operate Worley/client light and/or medium duty vehicles.
  • Work on engines, structural systems, hydraulic and electrical systems, and subassemblies such as transmissions and differentials.
  • Dismantles, repairs, and reassembles equipment using hoists, hand tools and pneumatic and electric tools.
  • Safely climb ladders of various heights.
  • Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance.
  • Perform duties in shop or in field as necessary.
  • Routinely perform safety and productivity observations: shop, field, vehicle, and equipment.
  • Analyze, diagnose, repair, rebuild and provide maintenance of heavy and light duty equipment such as hydraulic and lattice boom cranes, backhoes, motor graders, bulldozers, front end loaders, tractor-trailers, water, and vac trucks.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of heavy equipment and/or light duty equipment preventative maintenance.
  • Ability to read and understand schematic, blueprint/drawings, job descriptions, maintenance/safety/technical manuals, and safety/warning signs.
  • Ability to demonstrate adherence to established safety policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of diesel theory, hydraulics, electrical and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to demonstrate support for the company’s environmental management system.
  • Ability to maintain equipment maintenance records.
  • Knowledge of and experience in lubrication procedures for all types of heavy equipment common to heavy construction and oilfield service industries.
  • Ability to give and receive oral safety warnings, instructions, and task assignments.
  • Ability to work as part of a team; communicate effectively with fellow workers and alternate.
  • Knowledge and ability to use diagnostic equipment and computers.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools.

  • Must have ability to stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces, sit, squat, kneel, reach through low and high ranges, and exhibit normal balance and coordination. These basic physical requirements are essential for safe performance of the job in harsh environments with exposure to very cold temperatures and while wearing arctic gear.
  • Lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist with two hands.
  • Must stand throughout evaluation.
  • Push/pull 90 lbs. cart for 20 feet.
  • Push/pull 60 lbs. sled for 20 feet.
  • Kneel 60 seconds, stand, kneel 60 seconds, stand.
  • Sit and reach and range of motion evaluations.
  • Lift 50 lbs. from floor to shoulder with two hands.
  • Carry 50 lbs. for 15 feet with two hands.
  • Squat 60 seconds.
  • Aerobic capacity evaluation via 3 Minute step test.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of heavy equipment maintenance experience or an associate degree or certification from an accredited diesel/heavy equipment technology program with two (2) years of heavy equipment maintenance experience required.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to be covered by Worley auto insurer.
  • North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC). Worley can provide NSTC certification training if needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with remote North Slope operations.
