Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic

Castle Contracting is looking for a skilled Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic to join our traveling earthwork team and perform regular preventative maintenance and service repairs to a wide range of construction equipment. This position is based in St. Louis, MO, but work is performed at various projects across the nation.

Key Responsibilities

• Interact with field personnel to schedule maintenance and/or repair needs
• Order and maintain repair part inventory.
• Maintain records of service operations. Use of electronic record keeping devices, as assigned.
• Safe and proper use of assigned vehicles, equipment and tools.
• Perform routine welding and fabrication work on fleet.
• Service, maintenance and repair of company fleet of small and heavy equipment and machines.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Diagnose and repair systems, including computer-controlled, electrical, brake, hydraulic, mechanical transmission, HVAC, and engine.

Qualifications

• Current Class B MDL/CDL with air brake endorsement
• Mobility to perform all maintenance assignments, including sitting, standing, walking, lifting 50 lbs, climbing, crouching, kneeling, reaching.
• High School diploma or GED
• Proficiency on Caterpillar ET, Cummins Insite software
• Effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for making observations, communicating, reading, writing, and operating equipment and vehicles.
• 3+ years’ experience maintaining equipment, heavy equipment, or vehicles.
