Job Description
Good Shepherd Village at Endwell is looking for an experienced Healthcare Dietary Manager to join our exceptional dietary team!

Position Detail
1 Full-time position, Day / evening shift with Weekend availability.

Position Summary
Manages the planning, preparation and service of resident meal service in healthcare. Oversees quality of food prepared and served. Responsible for the purchasing and receiving of food and supplies. Monitor inventory. Coordinates menu development for cycle menus, themed events, and special functions in healthcare. Motivate, coach, mentor and develop staff. Implement labor and food cost controls. Maintain compliance with inventory management, food waste and safety.
  • Supervises employees by delegating, assigning and prioritizing activities, and monitoring operating standards
  • Ensures timely and accurate delivery of meals, nourishments, and snacks to residents and checks meal accuracy for menus, portion control, and diet needs
  • Complies with budget requirements by controlling costs (i.e. labor, inventory, equipment, materials) and making adjustments when necessary
  • Coordinates menu development for cycle menus, themed events, and special functions
  • Maintains current SERV safe certification and any locally-required certifications
  • Directs daily operations of resident meal services at health care units to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources to perform their jobs and meet goals and deadlines
  • Ensures that employees demonstrate an active customer hospitality orientation toward customers and clients
  • Establishes a safe work environment for employees by providing safety-related training and equipment maintenance and by ensuring compliance with safety and loss prevention programs and with standards
  • Establishes and maintains a safe work environment including both food and physical safety in order to comply with all regulatory and Good Shepherd standards
  • Manages food production through kitchen
  • Works with clinical departments to develop and implement resident needs
  • Utilizes resources, recipes, systems and programs to direct daily operations including food production, inventory, product deliveries, invoices, and procurement operations
  • Manages by providing positive and constructive feedback to employees to reward, coach, correct and motivate
  • Establishes operating standards, implements quality improvements, and communicates them to employees
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as Good Shepherd policies and procedures (e.g. quality assurance, safety, operations, personnel)

Essential Job Requirements
Education: 2 Year Associates Degree
Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age. Ability to read, write and speak the English language. 2 years of Lead/Supervisor experience
Experience: 2 years related work experience
