Job Description

The Health and Wellness Coordinator develops and manages the wellness program of the Northern Tier Insurance Consortium (NTIC), educates NTIC members and subscribers about opportunities to improve personal health through lifestyle changes, and provides support to individuals in setting and achieving personal wellness goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates and communicates program schedules; plans and maintains appropriate program service schedules to maximize efficiency and adequately meet the needs of employees.
  • Develops and administers health and wellness programs in cooperation with the wellness program committee of NTIC and contacts at each district for the purpose of meeting a wide variety of wellness needs.
  • Develops and implements assessment plans to determine the population's health and lifestyle needs; tabulates data to design a periodic “Strategic Wellness Plan”.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Designs, compiles, and markets current wellness activities throughout the NTIC participating districts for the purpose of keeping employees up to date regarding current health and wellness activities.
  • Provides services and programs specific to the NTIC strategic goals, employee health risks and interests, and collaborates with internal and external resources (e.g., disease management) to provide a comprehensive plan of care with appropriately defined interventions.
  • Collects data based on participation and surveys. Shares information with Highmark (or successors) and USI Insurance Services (or successors). Provides data analysis and reports to NTIC members in conjunction with Highmark and USI data. Uses data to modify programs to meet the needs of NTIC members.
  • Participates in meetings and workshops for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to help sustain and improve the wellness program.
  • Evaluates wellness participant satisfaction for the purpose of providing a method for determining the success of the wellness program.
  • Develops a plan to distribute health and wellness information (i.e. goals, activities) for the purpose of relaying information and promoting the program.
  • Interacts with a variety of entities (i.e., school districts, community agencies, businesses, health care facilities, etc.) for the purpose of publicizing the health and wellness program.
  • Negotiates community-based contracts (i.e., health club memberships, dieticians, trainers) for the purpose of providing employees with a broad selection of wellness activities.
  • Prepares and presents regular activity reports to management.
  • Follows the wellness budget guidelines for the purpose of complying with stated budget recommendations.

QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in health promotion/management, nurse education, personal fitness/training, human resource management, business or public administration, or a related field. Three (3) or more years of health programming experience and/or managerial capacity and experience in wellness program design and evaluation preferred. Excellent communication skills necessary.

Pay: $46,000.00 - $51,000.00 per year
