Purpose Statement

Bradenton Christian School is seeking Christ-centered Head Varsity Coaches. BCS currently has two

unique opportunities open for Varsity Coaches: Head CHEERLEADING COACH and HEAD BOYS

LACROSSE COACH! Each position is to oversee all coaches and athletes in the program, and to ensure

the overall program development from the middle school level to the high school level.

Scope

These coaches will report directly to the Athletic Director and interacts with other coaches, parents, and

students as a representative of Bradenton Christian School. The supervision of a coordinated program

and oversight of assistant and sub-varsity coaches are essential in this role.

Specific Responsibilities

Develop a plan of discipleship at all levels of the program, ensuring that Christ is in the center of

each team.

Hiring assistant and sub-varsity coaches with the approval of the A.D.

Operate within the annual budget report for the year.

Maintain a spiritual and professional environment at all levels of the program.

Actively seek opportunities to raise financial support for items and equipment.

Supervise the coaching staff at all levels in the program to ensure athletes are growing

spiritually, athletically, and socially.

Assist the athletic director in purchasing needs and equipment for the year.

Attend yearly coaching clinics and professional development opportunities and encourage

assistant coaches to as well.

Abide by and cooperate with the FHSAA, our governing body.

Work with the A.D. and trainer in regards to mandatory paperwork, which athletes must have

completed prior to the first official practice date.

Complete inventory of equipment and uniforms at the conclusion of each season.

Report scores and stats to the media, MaxPreps, and social media platforms after each game.

Market your players to the media and provide opportunities for college placement.

Assist the A.D. with scheduling of games and practices.

Encourage your student/athletes to participate in more than one sport at BCS.

Work cooperatively with other BCS programs and teams.

Create opportunities with our strength coach for off-season training and conditioning.

Coordinate coaching and player assignments for away games, as well as ensuring supervision

when traveling off campus for games/practices.

Conduct chapel prior to games when given the opportunity, open and close practices with

prayer.

Keep accurate stats for each game to ensure student/athlete records for future years.

Qualifications/Skills

• Communication, Management, and Organizational skills.
• Strong commitment to the mission and athletic philosophy of BCS.
• High School, College, or Professional coaching experience.
