Position Summary:

You will build out and scale the marketing department for a late stage (Series C) B2B enterprise SaaS company. With a focus on demand generation and revenue generation, you will develop and implement marketing strategies across the full spectrum of the buyer’s journey. As VP of Marketing, you are a hands-on marketer that not only can manage a highly productive team but can dive in and do what is necessary to accelerate growth. You have substantial experience with hiring and onboarding world-class talent and leading a high performing marketing team. The position requires experience and discipline to design and develop internal processes, playbooks and a data driven approach to grow pipeline and improve MCL to SQL conversion rates. Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, this person will be a key member of the Cognosos management team.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead marketing ops to build out & improve measurement systems, analytics, and ensure successful technical integrations across the martech infrastructure
  • Develop, execute, and refine the marketing strategy to establish Cognosos as a category leader across the Logistics and Healthcare verticals. You’ll drive a cohesive marketing strategy across the entire buyer’s journey including: awareness, education, selection, impact, and upsell
  • Own the data and martech infrastructure to analyze and respond to campaign outcomes. Develop KPIs and dashboards for daily/weekly/monthly monitoring to track, manage and progress outcomes relative to ROI, revenue attribution and campaign investments
  • Be a member of our executive team, participating in key decisions around strategy and company culture. Present to the Board of Directors on a quarterly basis
  • Customer Communications. Implement a world-class customer marketing program, designed to catapult post-live retention, renewal, and upsell metrics and deliver continuous value to our customers
  • Foster a data-driven culture.
  • Digital Marketing. Lead all digital marketing efforts including all digital properties, social, email, SEO, SEM, and content. Plan and deploy paid programs to achieve growth targets including campaign ad development, landing page optimization testing and analyses
  • Sales Enablement & Support. Partner with Sales to provide the sales enablement tools needed for an enterprise sales team, such as first call decks, case studies, competitive battlecards, etc. Support sales outreach efforts by managing in-person & virtual events, and creating content for drip and ABM campaigns
  • PR & Communications. Drive PR program that earns Cognosos consideration as a leading RTLS provider with insightful thought leadership programs and communications initiatives
  • Messaging. Own messaging and value proposition across channels, leveraging feedback from prospects in the sales funnel as well as existing customers to continually refine and speak to the latest challenges our prospects encounter
  • Branding. Work with executive leadership to steward the evolution of the brand including look and feel, naming conventions and trademarking.
  • Product Marketing. Work with the Product team to develop product marketing positioning and content. Lead the new product launch process.
  • Account-based Marketing. Champion a data-driven ABM program that provides both marketing and sales with a playbook of best practices while continuing to leverage the latest technology and educational resources to optimize results
  • Lead Inbound Demand Generation and Conversion. Lead the development, execution and optimization of multi-channel inbound demand generation programs via Content, SEO, Social, and other inbound methods. Recommend and drive content strategy. Lead the conversation strategies and efforts to convert the traffic from MCLs to SQLs
  • Partner with sales leadership to ensure alignment with GTM; work closely with the BDRs to continually refine qualification criteria and sales handoff enablement



An ideal candidate has:

  • You are excited about opportunities to work cross-functionally with Sales, Product and Customer Success teams to drive growth and adoption
  • 10+ years of Growth Marketing and Demand Generation leadership experience within a B2B SaaS organization (vertical markets). Proven track record of driving revenue growth from marketing campaigns and strategies
  • You are a highly motivated self-starter who prides themselves on having a growth mindset
  • You are a problem-solver at heart—you seek to understand others’ business problems and identify the best possible solutions to improve their business outcomes
  • The discipline to design and develop internal processes and implement structure, as well as the focus to drive projects and campaigns from creation to fruition
  • Substantial experience with hiring and onboarding world-class talent and leading a high performance marketing team
  • Our priority is demand generation: top candidates will have experience driving B2B SaaS marketing strategy to support 2X+ YoY growth. Experience in incorporating an ABM platform (6Sense desired) as part of the marketing playbook.

  • Fluency with metrics relevant to both marketing and sales in B2B SaaS, and translating insights into action
  • You’ve built a marketing function from scratch (or close to it!), and you’re eager to do that all over again with an incredibly fast-growing product
  • You are comfortable working in a highly collaborative cross functional environment and are not afraid to roll up your sleeves to get things done

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast paced environment with a sense of urgency and persistence
  • Worked in a tech startup between $5-25mil ARR
  • A proven expert in demand generation with demonstrated success across many different marketing channels and strategies
  • Experience in building a marketing department from the ground up, implementing playbooks across all relevant marketing disciplines
  • Board-level written/verbal presentation with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Previous experience working with the following tools in our marketing stack: HubSpot, 6Sense, ZoomInfo, Adwords, GoogleAds, LinkedIn Ads, etc.
  • 10+ years marketing experience in B2B SaaS environments with a focus on vertical markets
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field of study
  • Experience managing a team across multiple marketing disciplines
