Job Summary
The Head Women’s Gymnastics Coach provides leadership and integrity through the provision of creating, planning, organizing, motivating, communicating and controlling aspects relative to teaching, recruiting, practices, competitions, student-athletes, assistant coaches and related booster clubs. The primary function of the Head Coach will be to teach student-athletes the sport of Gymnastics. The Head Women’s Gymnastics Coach uses current methodologies and recognized best practices in his or her field, specifically in the sport of Gymnastics. The Head Women’s Gymnastics Coach must have the ability to coordinate a competitive program that develops the skills of his/her student-athletes in Gymnastics events. He/she evaluates and recruits academically qualified student-athletes whose athletic skills would allow the program to be highly competitive.
The Head Women’s Gymnastics Coach is expected to conduct him or herself as a true leader and role model both on and off the field of competition. Moreover, the Head Women’s Gymnastics Coach is expected to be knowledgeable about and comply with NCAA regulatory policy governing his or her sport as well as NCAA policies governing recruiting, eligibility, ethical standards, playing seasons, and extra benefits. Evidence of the Head Women’s Gymnastics Coach’s mastery of rules and policy will be in the Departmental expectation that the Head Women’s Gymnastics Coach successfully complete the annually administered NCAA Coaches Exam.

Required Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of five years related post-undergraduate experience.
- Demonstrated experience as a Gymnastics coach at the Division I collegiate level;
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead student-athletes toward competitive and academic success;
- Demonstrated experience recruiting student-athletes;
- Demonstrated experience managing administrative tasks related to the operation of college level team sports.
Required skills and abilities
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with student-athletes, coaches, athletic trainers and athletic administration.
- Ability to manage budgeting, scheduling, meal planning, coaching, recruiting, scouting, and purchasing and caring for equipment.
- Ability to implement policies and guidelines for all Gymnastics personnel and student-athletes.
- Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated problem solving, strong leadership, and team-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle and prioritize diverse tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work a highly variable schedule including nights and weekends.
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Software including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Preferred:
- Master's Degree;
- Head coaching experience at Division 1 collegiate level.
