Head Coach 5 (Head Women's Beach Volleyball Coach)

Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Associate Athletics Director and reporting to the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, responsible for all aspects of an NCAA Division I women’s beach volleyball program including student recruitment, scheduling, team travel, practice planning, budget management, selection and supervision of assistant coaches, fundraising, administration of summer camps and clinics, and administration of the women’s beach volleyball program in full compliance with the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA), Conference, and University rules and regulations.

• In accordance with UC Davis Athletics’ hiring process for coaches, UC Davis will require any head coach or assistant coach final candidate(s) to sign an authorization for a reference check. Pursuant to your signed authorization form, we will inquire with your prior institution(s) about any records of substantiated misconduct.
• Current CPR & First Aid certification certify bi-annually.
• Complete and pass the NCAA Recruiting Examination per NCAA bylaw 13.1.2 (Permissible Recruiting) before recruiting.
• Position will participate in the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Pull Notice System.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Current CPR & First Aid certification or must obtain within 30 days from date of hire.

• Knowledge of the rules and strategies of women’s beach volleyball, which includes, but is not limited to, teaching techniques, coaching strategies and safety measures that are necessary for the UC Davis student-athlete to compete at the collegiate level.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Organizational and administrative efficiency in implementing sports programs, i.e. event management, budgetary procedures, facility maintenance, participation in public relations activities.
• Ability to learn the complex policies and procedures regarding academic eligibility of UC Davis student-athletes. These include UC Davis, Conference and the NCAA policies and procedures.
