Job Description
Job Title: Guest Room Attendant – Best Western Kirkwood Inn

Position Summary:
Performs routine duties in cleaning and servicing of guest rooms and baths
under supervision of housekeeping supervisor. Room attendant promotes
a positive image of the property to guests and must be pleasant, honest,
and friendly. Maintains complete knowledge of, and comply with all,
housekeeping departmental policies/service and the hotel's
procedures/standards. Identify and report preventative or other maintenance issues in public areas or guest
rooms
Room Attendant Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collects soiled linen for laundering.
  • Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately and always maintain positive guest relations.
  • Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
  • Take up any tasks assigned by the supervisors as and when needed.
  • Perform rotation cleaning duties (e.g. steam clean carpets, spring cleaning deep cleaning etc.) as required
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Clean closets and door tracks on check-out rooms, removing dust and debris. Ensure correct amount and placement of hangers, extra blanket/pillow, and luggage rack.
  • Empty trash containers.
  • Remove soil, dirt, soap build-up and hair from bathroom mirrors, vanity, sink, toilet, shower walls, bathtub, shower curtain and floor.
  • Remove dirty bed linen and make up bed with clean linen.
  • Return and restock cart at end of shift.
  • Cleans guest rooms and baths in accordance with hotel procedures.
  • Realign furniture to the floor plan.
  • Checks and secures the rooms.
  • Replace facial, toilet tissue and bathroom amenities in correct amount and location
  • Remove all dirty linens and replace with the clean par to the designated layout.
  • Always respond in a friendly, helpful manner to guests and other colleagues.
  • Report to work in required uniform and in adherence with the Hotel’s Dress Code Policy.
  • Ensure security of guest rooms and privacy of guests.
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team player.
  • Report missing / found articles, damage, or merchandise problems to the housekeeping supervisors.
  • Dust and polish all furniture.
  • Maintains housekeeping cart.
  • Update status of rooms cleaned on assignment sheet.
Prerequisites:
Physical mobility and stamina required, ability to follow instruction, detail-oriented,
professional attitude is required, ability to work independently. Speak with others
using clear and professional language. Support team to reach common goals.
Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25
pounds without assistance.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
Previous hotel-related experience desired.
