Gte Electrical Technician Jobs

Job Responsibilities

• Assembly and fabrication of sub-assemblies and panel control accessories including labels, tags, harness, etc.
• Interpret and follow engineering drawings, shop procedures and all documentation related to the projects and tasks assigned.
• Thorough and timely completion of projects, assemblies or tasks following the shop procedures.
• Assist in coaching new personnel in the skills required to fulfil the role of Technician.
• Other duties as required.
• Participate in actively complying with company HSE guidelines.
• Assembly and fabrication of industrial control panels from schematics.

Required Skills / Knowledge

• Shows a willingness and ability to learn new skills.
• Solid verbal and written communication skills.
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical rigid conduit.
• Working experience on layout and wiring electrical components and terminations.
• Work safely with basic hand and power tools.
• Able to read detailed drawings and wiring schematics and symbols.
• Flexibility in support of changing external and internal customer needs.
• Demonstrated positive and constructive attitude.
• Competent IT skills including the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience and general knowledge in the electrical field.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Familiar with testing, diagnosing and troubleshoot electrical circuits and devices.
• Proactive engagement on HSE requirements.

Experience

• 3 years’ experience in the field of panel building assembly.

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certificate from technical school a plus.
• Further educational qualification in an electrical or mechanical engineering discipline is a plus.
• Understanding basic engineering principles, a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work on your feet for minimum 8 hr days. During peak season, GTE technicians may be asked to work up to 10 or 12hr shifts.
