Job Description

The role

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a growing Global Marketing team in a growing company. The Graphic Designer is responsible for inriver’s global brand identity. This is a global role working directly with the Chief Marketing Officer, as well as working in close collaboration with Marketing team leaders and peers.


In this role you will have a unique opportunity to lead and develop a brand as part of the growing Global Marketing team. We’re looking for an experienced and innovative brand builder to help us increase inriver’s brand awareness and create further differentiation for inriver’s offerings. You will be responsible for maturing inriver’s brand identity, driving greater brand consistency and building brand value by extending the brand visual treatment, plus its use by our partner community. You will serve as the brand ambassador throughout the company and work closely with agencies and freelancers. Plus, you will collaborate across the Marketing leadership team, as well as the broader company to ensure we live the brand externally, internally for our employees as well as prospective employees.

The ideal candidate is strategic, creative, collaborative and has a passion for building technology brands that engage and inspire, plus stand out to mid-size and large enterprises in manufacturing and retail sectors, as well as in a broader commerce ecosystem.

This role can be remote, preferably on US Central or East coast time zones due to significant work with Europe. This role reports to inriver’s Chief Marketing Officer.


Responsibilities:

  • Evolve inriver’s brand identity, framework and brand guidelines. Create and maintain a design inventory of components, libraries, and style guide to support the development of a roadmap that evolves our design system over time.
  • Be the champion of the inriver brand. Responsible for the inriver global brand identity and delivering the creative assets, with the goal to drive brand awareness and create further differentiation for inriver’s offering.
  • Create a process to manage creative services requests, prioritize and deliver work within realistic turnaround times. Traffic control creative work with and to agencies and freelancers.
  • Deliver high-quality visual assets for digital, UI, web, and print design. This includes but is not limited to presentations, datasheets, ebooks, web imagery and layouts, paid and organic social media banners and assets, virtual and in person event assets.
  • Communicate and disseminate guidelines to drive greater brand consistency and build brand value to employees as well as outside agencies, freelances, and the partner community.
  • Successfully manage fast-moving and many concurrent projects and requests, both proactively and reactively. Ideate on and create design components for A/B tests to continually improve conversion rate on the website, in digital and social ads.
  • Collaborate closely with the CMO and marketing leadership to deliver high-quality creative content.
  • Assist with art direction for static assets, photoshoots, and video production.
  • Interact directly with our web development agency to ensure web designs are executed accurately.
  • Create guidelines for campaigns as it relates to lockups, graphics, and motion treatments.
  • Collaborate with and guide marketing agencies and freelancers to ensure consistent and quality output. Train them on brand guidelines and incorporate brand feedback.
  • Other brand or marketing activities as required.

Qualifications/ Requirements:

  • High Proficiency with industry-standard design tools and software (Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Bachelor's degree or global equivalent in Design.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in graphic design, creative services and/or brand management at a creative agency, studio or in house for a technology/software company. Specifically, you will have experience working on brands in the in B2B or B2C technology/software space.
  • A strong portfolio of design, showcasing an excellent sense of concept development, typography, layout, web and digital design principles.
  • Proficiency with business software (especially MS Office, both offline and Sharepoint)
  • A pulse on what is relevant in culture, design and technology.
  • A professional knowledge of web and social media standards and limitations.
  • Experience working with Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign to create assets with strong page composition and pixel perfect assets
  • Ability to make persuasive arguments to influence design decisions with internal and external partners
  • Actively seek feedback and review of work; accept and act upon creative/technical direction. Ability to collaborate with others.
  • Take direction well and be nimble to extend designs across platforms and mediums.
  • Ability to investigate, utilize and take inspiration from current design, print and other digital trends.
  • A professional and practiced design eye to distinguish good design from bad, careless from well-conceived and crafted.
  • Able to thrive and execute in an evolving, fast-paced environment with a high degree of change.
  • Mature and strategic thinker.
  • Attention-to-detail, strong organizational skills and time management.
  • A portfolio will be required.
  • Self-led starter with initiative is a must, given you will report to a senior executive.
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent initiatives and priorities to deliver successfully.
  • Ability to travel occasionally internationally (estimate 1-time per quarter or less).

Bonus Technical Skills

  • Sketch/Figma.
  • Motion graphic and/or animation skills.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with animation/motion graphics, designing brand templates, Workfront, AEM, or working in PIM or Commerce software space.
  • Illustration and iconography design.
