Description

PSECU, a high-tech progressive financial institution with more than $8 billion in assets, is seeking a Graphic Design Production Intern responsible for assisting the designers in the graphic production of print and digital marketing deliverables. A production artist should be adept in using software applications in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and be knowledgeable of design principles. The individual must also have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

The design intern works with the Creative team to brainstorm concepts and determine appropriate design solutions for deliverables that are consistent with the PSECU Brand Standards. Creativity, attention to detail, accuracy, the ability to meet deadlines and follow marketing/creative processes are important to this position.

The design intern is responsible for controlling his/her own workflow and projects. Work is characterized by considerable independence in the day-to-day operations, subject to review of the Creative and Communications Manager and/or Creative Director. Work requires interfacing with PSECU Marketing Department Staff, other management and staff, outside specialists, and vendors.

Employee Type: Part-time, Intern

Schedule: Monday–Friday - 8:00am–4:00pm. (can vary based on student schedule). This is a hybrid schedule working remotely with minimum onsite expectation of 20%, or as needed. 20-30 hours per week.

Location: Harrisburg, PA

Minimum Starting Payrate: $17/hr. (Commensurate with experience)

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES - Essential for this position:

  • Utilize and maintain design templates.
  • Fulfill production workload as assigned by the Director, Integrated Marketing, Digital and Creative accurately and on time.
  • Assume both design and production responsibility for projects as assigned.
  • Ensure consistent use of in-house style guide and branding for all deliverables.
  • Work with the Creative Team and Marketing Managers to ensure complete understanding of the production requirements for each assignment.
  • Ensure that graphic solutions are optimized for integration, performance, and usability.
  • Conceptualize, design, and develop appropriate layouts and graphics within brand standards and to meet the needs of the credit union.
  • Coordinate production activities to meet deadlines and turn over accurate files, accompanied by complete production information.

MINIMUM / PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

Minimum Experience:

  • Experience with MAC and PC.
  • College student pursuing a degree in graphic design, digital design or similar.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.

Preferred Experience:

  • Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and UX/UI principles, a plus.
