Job Description
Are you a creative person that also has love of graphics? Do you have a passion for visual expression? Do like to make and edit videos? If so, you're the type of person we're looking for. What does a graphic artist at Apogee Components do all day? You'll create product decoration (make our model rockets look totally awesome!), you'll produce advertising graphics, newsletters, and product assembly and instruction sheets. You will edit videos - a lot. Requirements: You need to be an expert in Mac versions of Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and Final Cut Pro/Adobe Premier. Attention to detail is an absolute must. We're a small company looking to grow fast, and we're looking for the atypical person. Results aren't expected, we demand them. We're looking for someone that is slightly crazy, willing to get their hands dirty, but is able to still follow instructions. We need a detail-oriented person that has a nose for business and is excited about dotting the 'i's" and crossing the "t's". You'll get to fix lots of mistakes that other people make without getting much appreciation for it. We're looking for the unique, clean-cut person that knows the purpose of a job. Make sure the resume you submit has a link to your website where you keep your portfolio of sample artwork and videos you've produced. This position is M-F, 8:30am-5pm, in our office. It is NOT a remote position, nor are the hours flexible. Position Requirements: Artistically talented Expert knowledge of computers Expert knowledge of computer graphic software: Adobe Illustrator, In-Design, Photoshop, Adobe Premier Technically minded: able to read a blue-print Business oriented and cost-conscious Able to perform minor web site design Literate and good at proofreading Primary Duties: Prepare assembly instructions for new products produced by Apogee Components. Edit and produce videos using Adobe Premier. Take and edit photos of products and rocketry events. Design logos, and decorate products. Work with Marketing and Product Development teams to prepare product catalogs and advertising brochures. Assist the Marketing Department in the production of a bi-weekly newsletter that is emailed to customers. Produce artwork for product packaging. Produce web site pages that showcase our products and attract new customers. Source printed materials at the lowest prices. Create production style-sheets for kits, header cards, and technical publications that are sold or distributed by Apogee Components. Create archive back-up files of all jobs performed. Maintain a clean and safe work area.
