Grants and Programs Coordinator

UCIS-Office of the Director - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (23003749)
Performs all administrative and operational functions of a program. Coordinates all program events and personnel and provides services directly to customers. Develops and implements program policies and procedures. Performs budgetary functions and oversees media communications, website updates, and newsletters.
The Grants and Programs Coordinator of the Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies coordinates all aspects of the ASEEES fellowship and grant programs and other member programs, including the mentoring program and career development webinars. In addition, the Program Coordinator works with the Convention Manager on the annual convention session coordination and works with the Communications Coordinator on the ASEEES newsletter content and editing. The Coordinator may be assigned other tasks, as needed. The Coordinator will be supervised by the Executive Director. Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree with at least one year of relevant experience in editing, conference organizing, and/or coordinating academic/funding programs. Knowledge of Slavic, East European, and Eurasian studies required; proficiency with MS Office, including advanced proficiency in Word and Excel; near native fluency in English (both oral and written); outstanding organizational and communication skills; ease with technology, including databases; ability to make independent decisions and recommendations; ability to work both independently and as part of a team; juggle multiple projects, and meet deadlines; ability to maintain a positive and diplomatic composure; ability to carry some supply boxes; open to flexible schedule. Essential Functions The essential function of the position is to coordinate all aspects of ASEEES fellowships, grants and other member programs, and the annual convention session and edit the newsletter
Physical Effort The position is sedentary, except during the duration of the convention, during which a lot of movement is expected. Travel to the convention sites is required. Occasional heavy lifting will be expected. Must be able to lift 10-15 lbs.
