Job Description
Job Summary:
The BSA/AML Quality Assurance Analyst role reports to the Quality Assurance Manager and is responsible for testing the design and effectiveness of key processes and controls connected to the bank's BSA/AML and OFAC compliance obligations for first and second lines of defense. The BSA/AML Quality Assurance Analyst works with various business line personnel to complete testing of BSA/AML topics across the enterprise.
Along with the key functions listed below, this position will be expected to uphold the value that WaFd Bank places on simply being nice when working alongside colleagues and servicing our clients.
KEY FUNCTIONS:
  • Prepare clear and organized testing work papers to document and support work performed and conclusions reached;
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Undertake ad-hoc projects at the request of the Quality Assurance Manager, BSA Officer or designee.
  • Organize and prepare management information relating to testing reviews completed, issues identified, outstanding action plans, and progress against plan;
  • Address open issues arising from testing and ensure that associated action plans are addressed;
  • Research, plan, and assist in compliance testing in accordance with applicable policies and procedures for the first and second lines of defense within assigned testing timeframes to assess compliance with BSA/AML and OFAC laws and regulations;
  • Draft detailed reports encompassing the review results that clearly articulate the issues noted and remedial actions to be taken;
Qualifications:
Location:
  • This position is eligible to work in any of our eight states footprint - Arizona, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas, Utah, and Washington. Employees are periodically required to come in at a designated WaFd office.
Qualifications:
  • Strong organizational skills and willing to take ownership and responsibility of tasks;
  • AML, KYC, Sanctions, Compliance or Investigative background preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision;
  • Relevant industry qualifications in AML (ACAMS) preferred;
  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree
  • Superior writing, analytical, and communications skills;
  • 3-5 years of financial services experience, preferably in Audit or Testing related roles and experience;
